Dear Sarbani/Sanjay,

For my chart, Mars is the AK while Mercury is the DK. In the navamsa, the DK is in navamsa lagna (Cp) while the AK is in the 7th from it (with reference to maranakarakasthana principle). Please explain what this means. If you prefer 4th as definition for mka of mercury, then Sun & Saturn are in 4th from DK...

thanks and regards

Hari

Dear Friends,

The conference ended yesterday with a huge paper on Darakaraka. The relationships aspect of Darakaraka were not discussed but the 'dhana' aspect of Darakaraka was discussed in great detail with reference to Srimanta Yoga. DK lights the lamp in our lives. The soul or the AK searches for the DK. While looking for a partner it seeks for the 2nd and 7th houses. It holds the key to wealth and relationships. It is the sign of the 2nd house. The 2nd house provides the food for for the soul though knowledge and anubhava. For example, when DK is conjoined is Rahu , the native will seek hidden knowledge, knowledge that which is not known. It makes the native prone to research. Check the DK in the Siddhamsa chart to check whether we will achieve any siddhi or not. The 8 siddhis are associated with the 8 planets. The Serbian students have been given the task for a year to determine the 8 siddhis according to the 8 planets. The atma's wealth is knowledge. This is see from the navamsa. Sanjayji gave the example of his own chart, where DK Rahu is conjoined Mars in navamsa. Mars shows jyotish and Rahu shows the ability to dig deep and reveal that which is not seen by others. It is in the 9th from Karakamsha, showing that he will specialise in one of the dharma granthas, like one of the Vedangas.

However we did not explore this side. What we spend time on in detail is to see wealth from DK. Jaimini and Garga's concept of the importance of debilitated planets for the making of wealth was discussed in detail. At least one planet has to be debilitated in either navamsa or rashi. The GK's debilitation in navamsa is highly desirable as it indicates the crushing of foes. We have to examine the relationship between AK and DK in the rashi chart from the point of view of pachakadi sambandha in terms of both natural relationships and the house placements. We then see the marana karaka sthana from the DK planet. For example, if Dk is Mars, then see the 7th house from it, if Jupiter, then the 3rd from it. Planets placed there will create obstacles. Finally the association with lagna and AL will have to be seen.

The best paper prize went to Maja Vidakovic for her brilliant paper on Arudhas.

Best regards,

Sarbani

Dear Hari,

As I wrote to Partha in a another list, we must first look for Srimanta and Dhana yogas, by checking the lords of 2nd, 5th and 11th house. The 2nd and 5th lord Jupiter is in the lagna. The 11th Mercury is exalted in its own sign and it is this Mercury which is the DK. Remember tasmin ucche niche srimanta? The involvement of lagna and AL is important to know whether the native will be personally involved in making or getting/inheriting wealth. The lagna lord should be associated with the DK and Jupiter should be associated with the AL, to indicate fame in wealth making. Your lagna does not have any association with the DK but Jupiter had graha and rashi drsti on the AL. From AK Mars, Ketu is in the marana karaka sthana indicating people indicated by Ketu will be obstacles to the growth of your wealth. According to the pachakadi sambandha Mars and Mercury are natural enemies although placement wise they are not all that bad. At least one planet has to be debilitated in rashi, navamsa, dasamsa or D 60. You have Saturn and Mars debilitated in navamsa, Venus in the rashi and Mercury and Mars exalted in the rashi as well.. You surely have a deep desire to have fame through accumulations of wealth by creating something big, and your exalted 11th lord in the 11th house , and that too the DK, indicates that you should have very good income, which I am very sure you will. However the obstacle, seems the non-association of the lagna lord with the DK and their natural enmity from the pachakadi sambandha.

Best regards,

Sarbani

Dear Sarbani, namaste

Thanks for your analysis. It certainly clears up some issues...I see that you reckoned the marana avastha in rasi chart. So it appears that jyotisa (and at a deeper level, spirituality) ruled by Ketu will be a stumbling block to wealth generation. Can I take this as indicative of the fact that jyotisa would not be an alternative career for me and I would continue to pursue it as a non-profit activity? In dasamsa, Ju & Ke are conjoined in the 8th house ruled again by Mercury probably indicating I have to walk a thin line between my career and pursuing jyotisa. Maybe after retirement...

Hari
