Ardha Nadiamsa calculations in JHora

Dear Narasimha,

I had done my A. N. calculations of my 10th lord by hand and was surprised to see that the JH calculation did not match, although I did set the preferences to "uniform" and "Sanjay's new method". The number on Jhora is 161 instead of 162 (seems not to be rounded up), and the planetary ruler indicated is for the fixed sign instead of the moveable sign of that number, according to Sanjay's chart.

Has anyone else checked this by hand? Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Willa

Dear Willa,

Thanks for the birthdata in a separate mail.

Your Saturn is at 16 deg 5 min 18.97 sec in Scorpio (a fixed sign).

This basically means 16.08860278 deg. Each ardha-nadyamsa is

30/300=0.1 deg. Divding 16.08860278 deg by 0.1 deg (i.e. multiplying

it by 10!), we get 160.88602778. Thus, 160 ardha-nadyamsas are over

and Saturn is in the 161st ardha-nadyamsa. He is at about 88.6% of

the 161st ardha-nadyamsa.

So JHora IS correct in showing 161. Why did you get 162 manually?

Also, Saturn is in Scorpio, a fixed sign. So you do use the fixed

sign order. JHora shows Jupiter as the ardha-nadyamsa ruler of

Saturn. That is correct. Why did you want to use the movable sign

order when 10th lord Saturn is in a fixed sign?

If you use Sanjay's old method of continuity and use uniform or non-

uniform nadis, then Saturn is in the ardha-nadyamsa of Moon, showing

a bureaucrat or doctor or care giver or artist.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no errors in JHora's ardha-

nadi calculation with any of the six supported options.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

Om Gurave Namah

Namaste Willa,

I did the calculation earlier by hand and it did match

Jhora 7.03 calculation, and my 10th lord Mercury is

still in Venus's ardha nadiamsa :--(

Dear Narasimha,

I know it's not my chart, yet just checked what Willa had sent in, and Saturn is at 16-5-28.58 " .

Unless everyone's JH settings are identical, each chart will show up differently on every screen :o)

Respects,

Ramapriya

Dear Narasimha

Namaste.

Will you kindly tell me how and where I can get much-talked about

"JHora 7.03"?

I only have the upgraded version 7.02. Have I missing something?

Best wishes
