Guest guest
My dear Parhta, > Unless you are not hundred percent sure yourself, > please dont reveal it to the world. If I follow this advice, I may have to keep quiet for ever on some topics! On the other hand, if I speak, even my blabbering may help the others (and the next generation) to go further. These days, I do acknowledge to my students all the time that my knowledge is not perfect and that the astrology I know is still an art and not a science. Perhaps I was not as careful in the past and ended up misleading you unwittingly. If so, I am sorry. Personally, I am grateful Sanjay taught me Drigdasa. Without him, I wouldn't have even considered Drigdasa. Parasara taught so many dasas. But he did not tell how to use them. So I ignore most dasas taught by him. But the insights coming from Sanjay got me started on Drigdasa. Now I can go back to Parasara and perhaps oneday understand Drigdasa fully. Even imperfect knowledge from Sanjay was most most most valuable to me. Ideally, I would've liked to discuss Drigdasa on an exclusive list for gurus, so that other students are not disturbed by the vagaries and uncertainties of this knowledge. However, unfortunately, vyasa was closed.. Guest guest
|om namo bhagavate vasudevaya| Dear Partha, Why must you assume that PVR has no right to question me? He is my sishya as much as you are and he has every right to ask me about the sloka from Parasara. He has given an interpretation and I thought that he should try it. Nowadays he seems to be jumping to conclusions very fast without trying the interpretation he gives. He has also said that the period is doubted and so are so many things...so let him come out with what he has to say. So far he has only given one aspect of the drig dasa and he has squarely deviated from Parasara in following me in the use of Drig dasa for Dual lagna i.e. the dasa shall go from 9th to 8th to 7th house and aspected signs. The deviation he is suggesting is that the Drig dasa should follow the closest light which is a good theory but this needs to be corroborated. The light of my learning uses a definite concept of the vimsapada and samapada movement of Vishnu (after all Drig dasa is the gati of the 9th house i.e. Guru and Vishnu). It is extremely easy to criticise, but it is very difficult to come up with something better. I am not happy with the antardasa used for drig dasa and have been working on this and this is what I was using the given sloka for i.e. sloka 187. Any other use of the sloka will be quite tough to accept when we want to study drig yoga. chare vyutkramato grAhyA dR^ig.hyogAH sthirabhe kramAt.h | vishhame kramato dvandve rAshayo vyutkramAt.h same || 187|| With best wishes and warm regards, Sanjay Rath * * * Sri Jagannath Center® 15B Gangaram Hospital Road New Delhi 110060, India http://srath.com, +91-11-25717162 * * * sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of pvr108Friday, August 12, 2005 11:18 AMsohamsa Subject: To Partha (Re: Parasara's Teachings on Drigdasa-concerns) My dear Parhta,> Unless you are not hundred percent sure yourself, > please dont reveal it to the world. If I follow this advice, I may have to keep quiet for ever on some topics!
