Guest guest
Dear Sanjayji, very good Stats. That is why i always maintain Mumbai.. nay India is great. I ask only one question to people.. what if the other so called forward countries has to handle so much of population? no offence meant to any person or country. just to answer the criticism of many who do nothing good for the country but cursing their own motherland. regards, utpal utpal sohamsa , " Guru Sanjay Rath " <guruji@s...> wrote: > om namo bhagavate vasudevaya > Dear Jyotisa > I got this from a friend and thought you all might be interested... > > *New Orleans vs. Mumbai* I couldn't' stop forwarding you this comparison... > > Inches of rain in New Orleans due to hurricane Katrina...18 > Inches of rain in Mumbai (July 27th).... 37.1 > > Population of New Orleans... 484,674 > Population of Mumbai.... 12,622,500 > > Deaths in New Orleans within 48 hours of Katrina... 100 > Deaths in Mumbai within 48hours of rain... 37 > > Number of people to be evacuated in New Orleans... entire city... wohh > Number of people evacuated in Mumbai... 10,000 > > Cases of shooting and violence in New Orleans... Guest guest
Dear Sanjayji and others, I'm Indian myself, but on the whole, I must say that the comparison between Bombay and New Orleans is rather unfair. The MOST important point that has been left out here is that New Orleans is several feet BELOW sea level and is protected by hurricane category 3 withstanding levees only. FYI, NEITHER the hurricane winds NOR the rain destroyed New Orleans. Net casualties and damage from hurricane winds and rain is virtually nil - see reports on the day of the hurricane. It is the STORM SURGE - the rising of the ocean 28-30 feet during the hurricane that caused all the damage and casualties in Mississippi and likely what caused the Lake Ponchartrain levels in New Orleans to rise. It was not the wind and not the rain. Bombay had no storm surge from the ocean at all. In New Orleans the storm surge is likely what caused the levees to break and that is when all the casualties occurred. If Bombay had been below sea level and had been hit by a 30 foot storm surge - that would have been like a super tsunami, but one which NEVER went back (as in New Orleans) into the ocean (the earthquake- caused-tsunami on the Indian east coast went back into the ocean). How many casualties would there have been then? On a different note, are these effects - tsunami, Bombay flooding, New Orlean hurricane, all effects of Saturn in Cancer? Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sundeep, Namaste On a different note, are these effects - tsunami, Bombay flooding, New Orlean hurricane, all effects of Saturn in Cancer? Sundeep The answer is no. Venus and Rahu's trajectory indicates rains and vegetation, Ketu and comets etc indicate violence and Saturn's trajectory into Punarvasu indicates acquisition of wealth for India with Saturn in Aslesha and Jupiter's entry last year began this huge profits due to the economic changes..............just a cursory glance, no more.
