Guest guest
Dear Lakshmi garu That is all Ok. But paka lagna has ketu and there was a discussion that some kind of smoke figures in the consciousness of the person. I have neecha Ketu in Arudha lagna in navamsa, and has rasi drishti over lagna. This was another point that Sanjayji raised. Aspect of ketu. Now we all know that ketu cannot have aspects, and hence he was clearly referring to the rasi dristhi of his ketu over the lagna both in rasi and navamsa. I am not sure if Smoke figures for me in any way. Infact every day when i am driving(26 Kilometers up and down) in the busiest traffic of the world , getting stuck for long time, inhaling gases emitted by the various vehicles, i feel that Sanjayji may be after all right. That smoke figures for me in day to day life. best wishes partha sohamsa , " B Lakshmi Ramesh " <b_lakshmi_ramesh> wrote: > Om Gurave Namah > > Dear Partha, > > I meant so called addictions to intelligent things like chess and > astrology. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Partha, " That " smoke figures in the lives of millions of people, Partha:--)) I don't think we are discussing passive smoking here! I checked up Voja's chart too and Rahu is the dispositor of Moon (conjoined dear Saturn) and Rahu is very much in the 2nd house. Guest guest
Dear Lakshmi Garu The days when i was stuck in traffic jams, have been good. I got a promotion on the day i was late and stuck up in a big traffic jam. Inhaling smokes helps ketu to work overtime and since he is with Jupiter, good news is always around. Today also i was stuck in a big traffic jam, and one project that i was working on got cleared. So long with googlies. best wishes partha sohamsa , " B Lakshmi Ramesh " <b_lakshmi_ramesh> wrote: > Om Gurave Namah > > Dear Partha, > > " That " smoke figures in the lives of millions of people, Partha:--)) > I don't think we are discussing passive smoking here! > > I checked up Voja's chart too and Rahu is the dispositor of Moon > (conjoined dear Saturn) and Rahu is very much in the 2nd house. > > Regards, > Lakshmi
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Partha, Congrats and may you get stuck more often :--)) But on a more serious note, don't you think that Rahu is the karaka for all addictions because he gives the mind a high, a false sense of exhileration/exaltation, because Rahu and Moon also share Taurus as their exaltation sign. Boosted up AL, as brilliantly stated by Swee. Ketu, on the other hand, is more likely to cause depression, when one is not indulging in the addiction, because he is co-lord of scorpio, which causes the debility of the Moon. ofcourse, it is a different matter that ketu also encourages addiction as an antidote to depression and the vicious circle continues! regards, Lakshmi --- " V.Partha sarathy " <partvinu wrote: > Dear Lakshmi Garu > > The days when i was stuck in traffic jams, have been > good. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste List, I was reflecting on whether ketu, as the moksha karaka, could save the manah from addictions...but then a thought occured to me that as manah is wholly dependent on pancha bhutas, only one of those pancha tattwas can save Moon, ofcourse, Jupiter representing the Akasa tattwa (the least gross & earth-bound) being the obvious choice. Could this be the reason for saying that only Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus and Mercury (representing the pancha bhutas)can break the Kemadruma yoga, while Sun (soul is not paancha bhoutika)and the nodes (intangible impulses)can not break the yoga? Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Sourav, Namaste. Thanks for directing me to the said message, because I really enjoyed reading it again (I would never miss even a single line from Guruji!). Guruji was talking about imbalances in pancha tattwas and corresponding imbalances in gunas.... i think it is the nodal influence which causes these imbalances. My basic premise is that the pancha bhutas & trigunas tend to remain in equilibrium (the way god created them)unless there is an affliction to one/some of them. infact, we had an interesting debate on this topic in Varahamihira, perhaps 2 years back. Can the mind (manah) exist/operate without the body? It can not. similarly if the mind has something/ someone " tangible " to cling on to, it would not fall into the trap of addictions & depressions. " Tangible " is the keyword here, because moon's preoccupation is totally with " prithvi " ! Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna || Dear Lakshmi-ji, Namaskar. Mind can and does exist without the body. When the body is deceased and the mind & soul migrates to take up a new body, mind bears all the impressions of the old life. This is subconcious. The fact, as you noted, that the mind clings on to the body is a testimony to the delusion mind and buddhi is under. When mind frees from such a delusion (through application of purified buddhi) mind is capable of dealing with much more. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Sourav, Firstly, I do humbly agree that my “buddhi” is still covered in delusion and deliverance from avidya forms the crux of my daily prayer. Then, I want to you know in what sense I think of pancha tattwas...as gross entities and also as subtle essences and influences. As long as the mind remains full of attachments and desires, can it be said to be free from body, whether in sleep (dream) or in death? Is not moon a satellite of earth / prithvi (body)? If earth were to vanish today, what would happen to the orbiting moon? The fact that Moon’s exaltation as well as Moolatrikona are not in its own house but in a Bhu tattwa rasi (Vrishabha) prove beyond doubt that Moon’s delight as well as dharma are solely dependent on prithvi /body. What is mind, basically? My definition would be that it is a repository of thoughts + FEELINGS, which are very much connected to this body and this birth. It’s infact your sookshma sareera (Moon treated as alternate lagna). That’s why you carry your likes/dislikes, your fears…. everything into the dream state. If in the dream state, the manah is totally free of body, then it might as well wander away and settle for some other far more comely body! Actually, not a bad idea:--))…but the very fact that it doesn’t happen indicates that each manah is firmly anchored to a particular body. Now, when you talk of manah beyond death, there is a certain brief period of time, during which the manah does exist beyond the body. But, that’s only for the purpose of working out its tenure in hell or heaven before the mind is absorbed into the Collective Unconscious. It is this individual manah, which variously fears, suffers or pleasures in these abodes after death, because the body has already become ashes. For spirits etc, their links to the body are so abruptly severed that they still feel “ghost desires, attachments, pains” etc… in the same way a person feels “ghost itches” after a limb has been amputated. They are unnatural and sad things and I really hope you are not referring to them. Bhagavadgita says emphatically that Soul alone is imperishable and transmigrates from body to body. For my reference, can you please tell me where it is mentioned that mind transmigrates along with the soul? Or are we using " Sat " and " Chit " interchangeably? Astrologically too, Moon negates itself totally every month…before a new birth begins. You might want to think that it is the same moon and there is nothing new…but each new moon brings in its wake a new month...and a new jeeva or life (Jupiter-significator for month) and you also have the concept of Dwadasa Aditya. No one month is like the previous…the flavours differ significantly. Among all this discontinuity, it is Saturn, infact, who provides the continuity, because he stands for a samvatsara. Same is the case with human birth. The poorva janma samskaras & impressions that we all carry with us, in a birth cycle, are part of our karma (Saturn) and are not to be mistaken as the manah (Moon). Those natives in whose charts Jupiter /akasa tattwa is strong can access the archives of Collective Unconscious /Universal Memory…and this again should not be confused with the continuity of manah. Such people usually have knowledge about others’ previous existences as well as their own. Their trikaala gynaana is not limited to self. My apologies for the lengthy mail. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Visti, Namaste. > [Visti] No mind without body? And yet our body is > not required for dreaming? Lakshmi: I had answered this question in my reply to Sourav. > So i guess you don't believe in the dictum from > Chandra Kala Nadi about the > Chandra-upapada and the abode after death? Lakshmi: Who am I to doubt the words of great souls? In my reply to Sourav I had already stated that manah, as the sookshma sareera, goes to these abodes after death and stays there till the sookshma sareera itself is extinguished. Thereafter the mind is absorbed into the Collective unconscious. The poorva janma vaasanas form part of the O/S, when new hardware (body)is commissioned! > > > Regards, > Lakshmi > >
