Dear List,

Namaste

There are three types of gandantas.

Nakshatra gandanta – A nakshatra gandanta is the evil phases

the ruling nakshatras. The inauspiciousness will are effective on birth

time, a journey or a marriage. It is not based on the longitudes, but is

based on the time – 1 ghatika = 24 minutes. The last two ghatikas of

the nakshatras: Revati, Aslesha and Jyestha and the first two ghatikas of

Asvini, Magha and Mula. A Night Birth will be harmful to the native’s

father if it is Mula nakshatra. The native’s mother will not be

subjected to this dosha if birth is in the 2nd pada of Mula

nakshatra.

Tithi Gandanta:        a. Purna Tithi – 15th, 5th

and 10th lunar days. The Last One ghatika.

            b.

Nanda Tithis – 1st, 6th and 11th lunar

days. The First One ghatika. Birth, journey, marriage and rituals falling

during these lunar phases will cause much evil to the concerned person/s in

that the dosha will hasten death.

       3. Rasi Gandanta:          a.  ½ ghatika

in the concluding currency of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

            ascendants.

b. ½ ghatika in the beginning currency of Leo, Sagittarius and

Aries. The consequence of birth during such a phase, the native will lose his

father within the first year or face death. Night births during such a phase,

indicates mother’s demise within three years. Birth during twilight

plagues the person with diseases and the native will face an early demise.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE

According to Brahma, the Moon which

enjoys FULL strength will completely nullify Nakshatra Gandanta and Tithi

Gandantas while the strength of Jupiter will eliminate any blemishes on the

Rasi (ascendant) gandanta.

Vasishta Muni prescribes that births

during Abhijeet muhurta will counter an gandanta evils.

 These three evils phases i.e.,

Nakshatra, Tithi and Rasi (ascendants) are nullified if births during:

Sunday ruled by Asvini

Wednesday or Sunday coinciding with Hasta, Chitra, Svati,

Anuradha, Revati, Jyestha and Mula.

Gandanta caused by Mula, Aslesha and Revati will not activate if

the Ascendant lord is not aspected by the Moon. The Moon has to be a weak

malefic (birth during Krishna Paksha) NOT receiving a benefic aspect.

Love,

Swee
