[Abhinavagupta] References of Rashis in the Vedas - can Mitra-Varuna's Kumbha be assimilated to the zodiacal Pot?

You will be surprised that Satabhisha Nakshatra (Lambda-asurii), the central

Nakshatra of the Kumbha Rashi, is regarded as the house of Varuna or in other

words Varuna is the Lord of Satabhisa. All these designations came through

the mystic experiences of the ancient sages. Mitra and Varuna are the asura of

the Devas. (RV 7.65) and they are also the upholder of order (rta) TRV 1.23.5). 

Vasistha looked after the North India and Agastya took charge of the South India

to balance the establishment of Dharma.

 

This is my humble attempt to show the significance of Mitra-Varuna in the

cryptic vedic verse where Kumbha (Rashi) also appears.
