Guest guest
Dear Sharma Ji, It is indeed unfortunate that many in this profession stoop to such an extent. In contrast, look at our great classics. How honest our fore-fathers have been? How many discrepancies we have in our classics? It would have been easy for great astrologer/rishis of the past to have " cleaned it all up " quite well so we have a " pristine clean " prediction system without some obvious errors still there. It is human to err and these self realized rishis acknowledged that. But apparently some " modern astrologers " feel the need to be " perfect " , even if it means rewriting the past. -Manoj ________________________________ M. Guest guest
Sharma ji, as we all know people are after fame and fortune.Majority of astrologers are no different. We can give that gentleman 50-50 since one of his prediction is correct thaugh it may amounts to cheating or whatever. Any way an astrologer should be brave enough to accept failure though he/she may not be a saint. regards, gopi. , Manoj Chandran <chandran_manoj wrote: > > Dear Sharma Ji, > > It is indeed unfortunate that many in this profession stoop to such an extent. Guest guest
It is true that astrology has more frauds than most of other disciplines, and it is because it is one of the most unregulated subjects. As a result, the voice of genuine and selfless astrologers is drowned and a bad image is created for the entire discipline. But those Sanskrit universities are no less to blame which ought to have regulated this chaos but are shirking. -VJ =============================== == ________________________________ Manoj Chandran <chandran_manoj Monday, July 6, 2009 6:33:02 AM Re: cheating again Dear Sharma Ji, It is indeed unfortunate that many in this profession stoop to such an extent. Guest guest
Dear Manjunath, Thanks for keeping track of the changes on the author's website. I have met many media-savvy astrologers - in both print media and audio-visual media. Some of them have simply vanished from the scene after some people called their bluff. They might still be practicing in a small way to earn a livelihood - but do not have any media presence. Even journos don't interview them anymore. As you rightly pointed out, with the change of the dasha, their media-popularity wanes. They probably don't do mundane and celebrity astrology anymore, and are probably confined to Natal. However, the reality is, Pop-astrology is here it stay. The reality also is that as long as pop-astrology is promoted by the media, these media-savvy astrologers are doing real serious damage to astrology, the super-science. Why else should astrology by categorized under " entertainment " in most publications? Sudarshan , " M. Guest guest
Fraudulence is a human trait and not specific to astrology. Even highly regulated vocations and professions have plenty of covered and in some cases even protected by their establishments. Medicine is highly regulated, so is building and bridge construction industry, aviation industry too and we all hear from time to time what is going on there. Heck, even the education industry too does not remain unaffected. Why else do Universities within the same country or even state/province vary so much in their standards and so too the quality of " Professors " within the same university ;-) RR , astro desk <astro.prashantkumar wrote: > > Dear Sharma, Vinay jha ji, > > well u have touched upon a good subject > > the blame goes on the consumer first who is not prepared to pay a qualified > even a simple astrologer, rather feels it is a subject not wortha > professional reading, they will pay any quacks also in any other profession > or even the super specialist doctors boeowing money if there is no real need > also > > and some r scared to hear the unpleasent predictions so will gloss over > books, magazines that even have a smal element of it, like to read the > fairly tale predictions so the market thrives > > but our own Purohits, scholars have not helped spread the awareness, > subjects worth > > PROBABLY THEY MUST CONDUCT SEMINARS or camps in high school itself for those > appearing for clas X, XII and guide parents on the possible profession, > higher education their children will pursue and thus keep the interest, > subject and the most important thing make the parents ready for the > donations some may end up paying, not all get merrrit seats and and not all > get the expected marks as well. > > the camps part surely even contemporary modern astrologer can undertake and > help the subject live longer > > Prashant > > On 7/6/09, Vinay Jha <vinayjhaa16 wrote: > > > > > > > > It is true that astrology has more frauds than most of other disciplines, > > and it is because it is one of the most unregulated subjects.
