Guest guest
Hi, This is to PVR and in general to others too We normally don't write on Sohamsa since our Magazine release announcements were blocked earlier couple of times and hence we are posting on Jyotish Group & Ancient Indian Astrology with the consent of their moderators. At the same time it must be made clear that as a policy we are not allowed to post on public or common forums and this time we must break this rule as PVR has posted a valid post. a) Thank you for making the attempt to translate the requisite verse and that is exactly what our intention was to inspire people to come forward and translate one commentary. Infact if you can use your sanskrit knowledge and translate the complete 6 commentaries it would help jyotishis as till date these commentaries were not available on the net or any one or any parampara made an effort to translate it in English. It is only when various commentaries are translated things will become more clearer in Jaimini and as you or someone said once 'we cannot rely on just one person or one parampara for any genuine teachings' especially when these paramparas are unable to quote a single shloka from any commentaries for their dasas or calculations or new lagnas or divisional charts. b) This post of ours was posted on various forums except Sohamsa, it mentioned 2 manuscripts whereas so far we have posted parts of 6 Jaimini Manuscripts, but so far we have not recd a single mail of appreciation for Maduraji, Shanmukha or Ravindra Bhagavat who have released this so generously. Praise or fame might not be their intention nor did they ever ask for it. As this kind of releasing of Jaimini Manuscripts have happened for the first time probably, a kind thank you by the jyotish community would have been nice and inspire them to get more manuscripts out from other sources. We are not trying to tell you that you should have said thank you but to the whole jyotish community that we must inspire others or any parampara to atleast come out with few jaimini or jyotish manuscripts and that should be kept in the open for everyone to review, translate or make the attempt to do so. One is made to remember a great spiritual yogi who was once a jyotishi told us that the word 'Thank You' does not exist in the vocabulary of jyotishis. > This particular manuscript was given to a famous Jaimini astrologer > ParamGuru from a parampara in front of us in Jan 2005 at a jyotish > conference but inspite of 4 years passing by not a single page has come > from his kind self, maybe he got busy & blame cannot be put on one > single person for not coming out with the translation, If there isn't ANY intention to " blame " , then why even mention this? Different people pursue different priorities. It is wrong to expect specific things from people and be disappointed. c) If we want anyone to teach us dharma or karma we will ask him/ her, provided we feel he or she has understood it. Re the intention of mentioning about the Paramguru, well to understand karma is very difficult & cannot be easily gotten by reciting mantras or by donations of free magazines or books. Our reply can be divided into two parts 1) Sometimes we make judgements about people who do lot of mantra and homams, but these people are unable to speak the full truth of their own sins or the sins of their Gurus, so that others don't commit costly mistakes of following their gurus and in jyotish sometimes these mistakes cripple the lives of these students. Making a judgement about such a person that what is the use of doing all these homams when there is wrong doings on the part of their gurus esp when the student knows it & turns a nelsons eye towards it, not warn others - this whole point can be judged on our part, bad remarks passed and but it is better not to judge a (or this) person or a (any) statement and better to mind one's own business is what we have learnt when we started on the journey to understand karma. 2) The reason behind our statement was to inspire people to translate as waiting for 4 years, not hearing a single word from that ParamGuru especially when he promised that he would translate it. So it is not our expectation or judgement on their priorities, just what they promised & no communication from their end. This can be frustrating in our attempts to bring out the real Jaimini than the current joke of Jaimini astrology it is in. Lets just say that atleast you were inspired to translate one shloka of it whereas after uploading 6 manuscripts only one shloka has been attempted to be translated, so understanding it would take few years or lifetimes. We were once promised by someone that he would translate 'The Last Book Of Astrology' written by a Yogi and the greatest book we have ever read, he said in 1 month he will do so, now he has disappeared with it since 3 years and when confronted re it, he said there is no jyotishi in the world who deserves to read such a spiritual book, he formed his opinion about others, about not wanting the finest knowledge to come out, the loss is ours and of the world as we don't have a copy of it now and generations will not be able to understand what has been written in it. Guess that is our fate to all our jyotish community as most of us have concentrated on only getting fame with astrology thereby creating bad karma and guess the consciousness is no longer pure enough for something good to come out. d) Also it has been observed that after a manuscript is given to someone it suddenly becomes someone's parampara knowledge and immediately courses or scholar programs are started. In order to stop such allegations on such paramparas we must give source and credit to people like Ravindra Bhagavat, Madura Krishnamoorthy Shastri ji & Shanmukha who are helping in opening releasing manuscripts for the benefit of all jyotish lovers without bothering to think that it can become someone's parampara knowledge after 5 years when new batch of followers come in esp when the so called paramparas have not removed a single manuscript on Jaimini till date inspite of 10-15 years of parampara, that is if they have it. After reading this mail you (PVR) might think that our reply was too sharp and maybe hitting at urs or someones parampara, it is not so, there is certain respect for you (not due to ur homams or software releases, but other things) and also for those paramparas, but truth needs to be out at what's happening wrong and even if it is our Guru who has done the wrong we won't stop from telling the truth. Guest guest
i, Firstly, thank you for posting the texts, and to all who are/will translate them for the benefit of all. Secondly, this tread might have been inspiring for honest students; to be more discriminative in their search for truth; provided the truth is its goal and not defamation under the veil of 'higher interests' If the truth is sacred, and not petty politics, there is no reason to avoid naming those who misuse/abuse/hide/mystify...etc, ancient sources for some ego-profit-reasons; if truth is for all, and not only for secret groups, and if you really think what you wrote /bellow/, please go ahead and give the full info, names /or be silent until ready/- to help, caution others, give substance to that desire to be perceived 'above it all'. You say PVR's comment is valid-sure it is: but you missed to notice that it comments hypocrisy, and logical distortion, as well.
