VRY Question # 3

Dear Jitendra,

I hope you don't mind me commenting, but couldn't you consider your

Rahu to be lord of the eighth, as it is stronger than Saturn by Jaimini's

rules? Then

your Jupiter-Rahu is a viparita raj yoga in the sixth, the sixth and eighth

lords together. This may give you a

push toward performing work and achieving material success especially when

Rahu-Jupiter began around 1994 or so to '96.

Did something happen then to make you begin service?

Sincerely,

Sat Nam,

Sat Siri Kaur

Dear Sat Siri,

I appreciate your comments and the insight on Rahu

very much!! I did begin working in June 1995 and have

had a steady cash inflow since then. I also, did work

as a summer trainee in Apr-Jun 1994.

My copy of Updesha Sutra is lying at Mumbai at the

moment. If you have the time, I would be glad if you

let me know Jaimini's rules that determine Saturn as

weaker of the two aquarius lords in my chart?!

Thank you once again,

Jitendra

Dear Jitendra,

Thank you, that is good to hear. The rules of rulership of

Scorpio/Aquarius

to best of my knowledge are like this:

(Both are the same I will just use Rahu/Saturn--Aquarius not

Ketu/Mars--Scorpio)

If either Saturn or Rahu is in Aquarius and the other is not, the

Other is the lord.

If both Saturn and Rahu are in the same sign, the one with higher

longitude

is the ruler, taking Rahu's longitude as subtracted from 30 degrees.

Exception--if either Saturn or Rahu is debilitated or exalted, the

exalted or

non-debilitated planet is the ruler. (Rahu is exalted in Gemini for phalita

matters, and in Taurus for ayur matters).

In other signs, whichever is with more planets is stronger.

If both with same number of planets, then use the " second source of

strength " for phalita matters and " first source of strength " for ayur

matters. Second source

is that whichever planet has the rasi drishti of more of Jupiter, Mercury

and the sign's dispositor (EITHER Mars or Ketu counts as Scorpio's

dispositor, and EITHER Saturn or Rahu counts as Aquarius's dispositor), that

planet is stronger. If there

is no winner yet, then see which is exalted or debilitated. Exalted wins,

debilitated loses. Then go to dual signs, fixed signs and movable signs in

that order.

Then go to whether the lord of the sign is in the opposite gender from the

sign itself, which is stronger than a sign whose lord is in the same

gender. Then go to which lord gives more years in its dasha, I think. (I

am not totally sure about the last rule).

Sincerely,

Sat Nam

Dear Sat Siri,

Thanks for spending the time. I appreciate your

effort! My wife is bringing my books on 11th July

with her, so from then on hopefully I should make more

meaningful contributions to the list. It is time for

some more education!
