And what is the alternative system for Rudramsha > reckoning? > Raman gives counting backwards from the 12th sign. Jagannatha Hora Lite software gives a different Rudramsa. This was given by Sanjay in " Jaimini Maharishi's Upadesa Sutras " (JMUS). Mandooka dasa is used with this Rudramsa. Sanjay gave examples in JMUS. Instead of Pisces, start from Aries. Instead of going backward, go forward. Ar, Ta, ..., Aq give the 11 parts of Ar. Pi, Ar, ..., Cp give the 11 parts of Ta. Aq, Pi, ..., Sg give the 11 parts of Ta. .. .. .. Ta, Ge, ..., Pi give the 11 parts of Ta. Basically count from Ar to the sign in zodiacal direction. Count the same signs from Ar in reverse direction. Start from that sign and count the 11 parts in the zodiacal direction. For example, let us say we want the 10th part in Sg. Sg is the 9th from Ar. Counting the 9th from Ar in reverse direction, we get Le. So rudramsas in Sg start from Le. The 10th rudramsa in Sg will be the 10th from Le, i.e. Taurus. This is what Sanjay gave in his book and this is what JHLite gives. > I'm also interested in that text on Astottaramsa. Could > Youforward it to me? > > Yours, Gauranga das. I will find it and send it soon. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
