Hare Rama Krishna

Dear ?,

Im in a hurry, but

Simply put , "Sarpa" is a snake yoga.

With Sarpa yoga, You are wrapped up with as if wrapped in the coils of a snake.

Kendras are important when nodes are in kendras it really binds up many aspects of life.

WHo is better than the as karaka than the nodes.?

Read about churning of the milk ocean in Srimad Bhagavatam.

There are many forms of Sarpa yoga.

This yoga is modified by the conjunction of other malefics and the signs the nodes occupy.

Best wishes

Lakshmi

In both Brihat Jataka and BPHS (under chapters explaining Nabhasa Yoga), it is unambiguously stated that presence of malefics occupying three (distinct) quadrants forms Sarpa Yoga in a chart. However, many scholars opine that Sarpa yoga is present in a chart if 3 malefics are in (any number of) quadrants. Also, these texts do not mention the nodes (Rahu & Ketu) as being included in the list of malefics but only natural malefic real planets - Sun, Mars and Saturn. However, many scholars include these nodes in the list of malefics giving rise to Sarpa Yoga. Can learned members throw some light as to why there is ambiguity in interpretation when there is consensus within the community that astrology is an exact science. I'll be grateful for feedback and explanation from learned members in clarifying this confusion regarding presence of Sarpa Yoga in a chart.

Dear Sir/Mam, Namaskar.

The exact definition of Sarpa Yoga in the tradition and by most

scholars is that Sarpa Yoga is formed when three malefics (among the

seven grahas excluding the nodes) occupy three out of the four kendra

houses. If this criteria is not fulfilled then the yoga is not among

the Dala yogas. Other results similar to Sarpa yoga may then acrue when

the definition is more loose, but this is not dala yoga.

I hope this clarifies.

Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

Respected Vistiji and Lakshmiji,

Many thanks for your responses and clarification.

The reason behind the query is in reference to a native, a highly

qualified and experienced professional, who has been struggling to find

a job for last 2 years in a country he emigrated to in 2007. The native

had suffered a similarly long career break earlier also (2003-2005). He

has been advised that the problems are primarily because he is cursed by

Sarpa Yoga present in the 4-10 axis and also due to curse of the mother

in the 10th house.

The chart details of the native are as follows: Lagna - Taurus; Ketu -

4th House (Leo); Jupiter - 6th House (Libra); Sun, Venus - 8th House

(Saggitarius); Mer(Retro) - 9th House (Capricorn); Moon, Mars, Rahu -

10th House (Aquarius); Saturn(Deb.) - 12th House (Aries).

The native has been advised to:- (1) wear Pearl in a string pendant on

a Monday night after worshipping Ma Parvati, (2) apply sandalwood tilak

every morning at the base of the neck, and (3) chant 1 mala of " Astikam

Munirajam Namo Namah " everyday - as a remedy for Sarpa Yoga. As a

remedy for mother's curse, he has been advised to recite 1 mala of

Vishnu Gayatri every day.

As you have stated that the Sarpa Yoga gets modified / similar results

acrue when the definition is loose, can the placement of 3 malefics

(Mars, Rahu and Ketu) in 2 quadrants (4th & 10th house) in the native's

chart be termed as some form of Sarpa Yoga? If so, are the remedies

advised appropriate?

Another question, though unrelated to the stated subject, is the

presence of debilitated Saturn in the 12th house in the native's chart

(Taurean Lagna). As per Pt. Sanjay Rath ji, this is a strong VRY in

itself - but for the VRY to fructify the native must ascribe to a

spiritual order or else the native will continue to face misfortunes.

How can one determine what spiritual order this native should asbscribe

to?

Thanks in advance.

regards

Om Namah Shivaya,

I am a bit late on a thread, yet I am giving my two cents on what I was taught

about these Yogas. Yes, Dala in this case Sarpa or Bhujanga Yoga indicates

outward pressures and is formed by Surya, Mangal and Shani only. However, if the

nodes pop in, then the different variety of Yoga is formed, which shows that our

wrong desires and mistakes trigger the Yoga and punishement is instant.Since the

nodes show celestial nagas and sarpas the problems are almost invisible for the

owner of the chart, and hard to tackle, since the only way out is knowledge.

Depending on the kendra they are placed in, the remedial measures differ.

There are different combinations if Saturn joins nodes, where pure evil is seen,

and we call it an eagle and a rabbit case, where a person is like a rabbit and

evil forces grab him like an eagle who does it swiftly, siletnly and

efficently. If Mangal is involved this is akin to Scorpio story where a person is

stung and poisoned badly and suffers from auto-immune and destructive syndrom.

Dear All,

Whilst this post has got nothing to do with the article, i guess i speak on the account of

personal experience, "Devipattinam" is a small village which is found enroute to Rameshwaram in Madurai Tamil Nadu, there are 9 stone slabs which are believed to be

"Syambhu" representive of the 9 planets in hindu solar system, it was said that Durga

appeared in Lord's dream before the Lankan war, and asked that he perform a graha shanti

before commencing on his war, as the grahas were favouring Raavana, this ritual must be completed before prayer to the shivlinga in rameshwaram.

The 9 slabs are immersed in water and are prayed individually or together as Surya,Mangal, etc - it was hugely beneficial to me, as well as many others i met in the west

vouch for its effectiveness in dampening the effects of the grahas.

I hope you guys find this information useful.

हरे राम कृष्ण

Dear Sain Dass, Namaskar.

I went through the chart.

His Sarpa Yoga is in the fixed signs in Kendra to lagna and both the

tenth lords from Moon (Ketu and Mars) are also placed there. Hence,

Sarpa Yoga will occur whilst he is in his home-country (fixed signs),

i.e. India and once he leaves to go abroad the Sarpa Yoga will subside.

Now here is the peculiarity of his current predicament. Moon being a

benefic is also there in the fixed signs and when strong will encourage

him to find happiness in his home-country. This means their Dasas will

try to make him return to India! Jupiter Antaradasa was running in the

Vimshottari Dasa and is aspecting that same Moon. Jupiter will not

support Mars and Rahu whom he is also aspecting and hence the

opportunities and reasons for him to go abroad are being lessened. This

occurred throughout his 2007-2009 stay. Mercury Dasa has recently

started and will encourage him in getting a job.

So, if you try to break his Sarpa Yoga with a pearl know that he will

have to return to India and will not have much success abroad. You can

confirm this from the D10 chart where Jupiter despite being the fifth

lord is debilitated and in the dusthana from the Mahadasa Saturn.

Instead I would recommend that he gets a square or rectangular shaped

turquoise emerald to purify his tenth house. This should be worn on his

right hand ring finger.

Hope this helps.

Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

OM NAMAHSHIVAAYA

Dear Guru Ji,

Namaskar

Understood Guru ji. All the statements are correct. Only thing is i am not

having water phobia instead i like much to take bath in rivers and often do so

when get an opportunity. Then the reason may be due to my room (in a house, a

ship or submarine) might have submerged in water and i died due to suffocation.

This thought is based on my phobia to closed rooms, especially lifts without see

through technology or very small confined area without windows or with windows

at higher levels. Thanks a lot Guru ji.

One more thing with the reply to Sain Dass Ji is regarding the statement " Moon

being a benific " . Normally Moon is presumed as with evil streak for Taurus

Lagna If it is so then this Moon presumed as benefice is due to Moon's lordship

(lord of upachya (3rd H) house) or/and sukla batcha Moon or natural

benefic..which way presumed?

Secondly with respect to Mercury, Mercury is the lord of 2nd and 5th house and a

natural benefice for Taurus lagna, moreover Mercury is vargotma getting strong

but placed in 6th house from D9 Lagna Leo; with debilitated Jupiter. Which means

no help from eternal source, hence Guru ji has advised Gem instead mantra japa

is it correct? Guru ji!

Square shape denotes earth tattwa, but how to correlate this shape emerald and

purification of tenth house? Kindly help us Guru ji.

With respects

Yours Sincerely,

sishya dheena
