When to apply Amsa bala?

Namaste everyone,

 

Narasimhaji provided, in one of his classes, really good guidance on

applying various balas. For instance:

 

1) Use shadbala to determine which planet shall dominate in passing

down the results of a yoga wherein multiple planets participate.

 

2) Use vimsopaka bala to determine the overall strength of the planet.

 

3) Use ashtakvarga of a planet to determine the co-operation it

receives from other planets in fulfilling its agenda during its

dasha/antardasha.

 

My question is - when to use amsa bala? Kindly enlighten.
