Hi Narasimha garu

In JHORA there are three options for MOOLA DASA - Lagna, Sun and the

moon. Under what circumstances do we use each of these options? when I

used Lagna or Sun/moon I see different results. Please advise.

thanks

Sri

Namaste,

Moola dasa starts from the stronger of lagna, Moon and Sun. So you should enable the use of lagna, Moon and Sun all. Then software will use all the three and find the stronger of the three.

The option exists because there used to be a controversy. Though Kalyana Verma and Varahamihira taught that Moola dasa starts from thqe stronger of lagna, Moon and Sun, Pt Sanjay Rath insisted that Sun should not be used as a candidate. He opined that Moola dasa should be started from the stronger of lagna and Moon.

This is why I added the option of selectively disabling lagna, Moon or Sun as a starting point.

However, Pt Sanjay Rath agreed later that Sun can also be used when stronger than lagna and Moon. Thus, the controversy has been resolved now. But the option remains there so that researchers can experiment.

I suggest enabling all the three candidates (lagna, Moon and Sun) as the starting point. Disable one of them only if you know what you are doing.

May Ramakrishna's light shine on us,

Narasimha

|JAI SRIRAM| Dear Sri.Narashima, In Kalyana Varmas Saravali Chapter 41.According to Manitha those who are born in during day time the dasa is from Sun and for the night born people the dasa starts from Venus. In Vimsottai and Udu dasa book Pt.Sanjay explains Moola dasa example for his own chart from Lagna and Moon. But you explanied Moola dasa of Pt.Sanjay from Sun in one of the Boston classes. Both of you given fine results but the Moola dasa starting point is varied. Moola dasa is also known as Lagna Kendradi Graha Dasa,so is it not indiacte it starts from lagna? Thanks, S.Venkatesh"Narasimha P.V.R. thank you for your reply.

Strength of Lagna, Moon, Sun - is it by the " degrees " ? the higher

the degree, the stronger? or we need to consider house, aspects,

lagnadhipathi etc...

thanks
