[Jagannath] Ketu

I would appreciate it if you would help me with the following question.

 

At what point in the history of jyotisa, and on what grounds, was

Ketu made a graha, and specifically a chaya graha, Rahu's tail, the

southern lunar node?

I have noticed that in the Rg and Atharva Vedas and even in the Brhad

Samhita Ketu is a comet.

 

I wish to hear your own realizations on Ketu, as well, and would also

be thankful for a reading list or online sources.
