Do papa aragalas obstruct? Discussions in lecture 7 of Jaimini first year seem to imply that both shubha and papa aragalas bring benefits, only the means are different. Also should we club Jupiter and Rahu together because of guru-chandala? Can Jupiter not give shubha aragala and Rahu papa? Other question! If you are looking at aragalas on 12H, can we say that Rahu has parakrama aragala? If yes, what is the impact of this papa aragala? Does the Mercury- Venus combination make him fond of music? (Kalyan Verma) May or may not make it a profession though! I admit that strong and vargottam Jupiter in trine makes him intelligent! DOB 7 JAN 1988,PLACE DELHI,TIME 0952 A few years back his parents had been told that he would go abroad and do very well in his studies and profession.The parents pooled their resources and managed to make this dream come true and sent their son to canada in 2007 to pursue his studies in chemical engineering.Unfortunately the child did not clear his terms and failed two and therefore has been debarred from doi ng this course till the 2010 august . The parents are very worried about the future of their son.The native is also confused about his career preferences and does not seem to have any clear goals.Over the last two years he has been heavily involved in alternative music ...in canada .. and think he would like to make his career in it. Here are my answers. a) Argala on the fourth house Its hard for my to justify that incase of Guruchandala yoga the Argala of Jupiter is inseparable from that of Rahu. Its abit like trying to separate the sweet in a sweet and sour dressing. Can we really justify this? I think not, and therefore look at the Yoga as a whole which is giving Argala. Afterall it made him stop studying which is the empirical truth. b) Argala on the 12th house We should analyse Argala w.r.t. 12th house, but this is more like money feeding ones expenses, and malefics in 2nd give bad food and cause more expenses on doctors and hospital care. Still the Lagna is that through which we shall taste and the position of the Guru-Chandala Yoga in the 2nd is inhibiting HIM (lagna) from experiencing the results of the Grahas in 12th house. c) Mercury+Venus and music Both these Grahas encourage the love of the arts which he has been exposed to more once going abroad. But they do not indicate music and we should be quite clear reg. this. Sun rules rhythm, Moon rules melodious voices whilst Jupiter rules sounds. The music he is interested in apparently involves no rhythm and no singing and seems to focus on sound itself (Jupiter). A colleague once confirmed to me that many sound engineers tend to have a link between Jupiter and Rahu with their profession, but I understand that this is because when Jupiter is eclipsed people resort to the Sun for help. Similarly when Sun is eclipsed they resort to Jupiter. Hope this clarifies.
