Guest guest
Namaste friends, Some elders wanted to do "Sata Chandi Homam" at Kalikamba temple in Chennai this year. I and another gentleman decided March 1-7 as the dates. On March 1 morning, the sankalpam will be said and the ritual will start. We considered some factors when deciding these dates, but one unplanned coincidence came to our attention much later. On March 1, when we are starting the Sata Chandi Homam, it is Phalguna Sukla Dwitiya tithi and Poorvabhadra nakshatram in Kumbha maasam. Interestingly, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was born 170 years back on Phalguna Sukla Dwitiya tithi and Poorvabhadra nakshatram in Kumbha maasam!!!! So we picked Ramakrishna Jayanthi (birthday of Ramakrishna) as the muhurtam for the homam, though we did not realize it at that time. Given that it is a Chandi homam being performed at a Kali temple and that Ramakrishna was a great bhakta of Kali, this unplanned coincidence is most interesting. It possibly shows that Ramakrishna's blessings are there for this event... Those of you who live near Chennai should consider attending atleast on one day.
