Kantak / Ashtam Shani (Ramapriya, et al)

Dear Ramapriya and List members, Namaskaar.

 

Allow me to share some of my understanding between Ashtam and Kantak Shani.

 

When considering from the Moon (Chandra):

Ashtam (“of eight”) Shani is the transit of Saturn (Shani) in the 8th from the

Moon.

 

When considering from the Moon (Chandra):

Kantak (“like a thorn”) Shani is the transit of Saturn (Shani) in the 10th from

the Moon. The anology is as if the person is going about having a thorn in

his/her feet. Saturn’s (100%) third aspect will fall to the 12th from such a

position. In the KaalaPurusha, this is the natural sign of the feet.
