Namaste Hency,

It looks like you are starting to learn Jyotish. I would

recommend you to take up a Jyotish shiksha (teacher) guru and start

reading the classics. The Jagannatha Hora software's help section lists

all important classics. You can read those books.

 

In terms of material remedies, They are primarily classified in 2

types. One in which materials are given away by you in forms of

Donations etc and in other prescribed auspicious materials are worn by

the native like a gem stone etc.

 

The Donations particularly focus on reducing your negative karma and

thereby giving you some relief to focus on higher goals etc. One

important factor for find what needs to be given away by you is

Upapada. Which is the Arudha of the 12th house. Mostly fasting (giving

up food) on days ruled by UL Lord is one such remedy.

 

Another is trying to acquire things which enhance your intelligence and

bring about balance in you. for this Lagna (and Arudha) Lagna plays an

important role. One such remedy is recommendation of wearing Gem stones

ruled by Lagna Lord or 9th Lord.

 

Another important form of remedy focuses on your 5th house. Which is

Mantra or correcting mind. Which is most important. In this type

the 5th house which governs the 5 tatva is noted to find your

anticipations in future. The 5th is important Bhaava(Emotion) in which

one's anticipation in future is made. Every body lives because of some

anticipation in future however bad their past may have been. Pancha(5)

Akshari (phonemes) mantra " na-mah shi-vaa-ya " is best mantra to cleanse

the 5th bhaava (emotion). One can begin with this mantra before doing

any other mantra. As Lord Shiva is the source of all mantra in the form

of this 5 phoneme mantra.
