initiation needed for rik vedic mantras?

Dear Chandan, Namaskar.

We can only benefit from getting diksha into the Rks of the Rg Veda,

however the Rks in the form as they are given in the Rg Veda require no

initiation and are free from any blemish. People are encouraged to

recite them. Further, you will find that once initiation is given into

these Rks certain bijas are added to the mantra, and this is what

requires initiation.

It is even possible for the Vedanga Jyotishas to exactly specify which

Rk a person should recite for any Karma they have based on their chart,

but this requires a lot of proficiency and some research.

Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

dear all,

namaste.

would like to ask all learned members on the forum that do the rik veda

mantras mentioned by maharshi parashara in BPHS , need somekind of

initiation before starting japa?

aLSO , bhps mentions that after completion of specified japa, homa with

offerings of 28/108 of the same mantra should be performed.

considering todays world , where very little geniune people exsist who

can actually do a technically correct homa , how feasible is this?

comments please,

humbly,

chandan s sabarwal.

dear visti ,namaste.

thanks for replying as i had left all hope of receiving a reply.

so are we supposed a add aum before the mantra ? would it not change the

vibration of the original mantra and also its effect?

for example mangal mantra would just be recited as is ..:

agnirmurdha divah kakut patih

prithivya ayam apam retam si jinvati

also , the bphs mentions doing a homa with either 28/108 offering after the

specifed count has been reached? what if we are unable to do the home ourselves

or cannot find somebody qualified enough to do a proper homa.

i stay in mumbai , india and here it is very rare to find real qualifed people.

humble regards,

chandan s sabarwal.
