Virus Mails and Miscellany

Namaste friends,

I have been off all . A couple of friends forwarded me some mails and I realize that there were virus mails sent to various that appeared to be from my address. No need to say, I haven't sent any such mails. I have scanned my desktop and laptop and there is no virus in them.

Moreover, the mails were from ""pvr108" <pvr". The mails were either posted on the web interface or sent by a virus using pvr108 ID. If the mail was sent from my PC's mailer (outlook), the name would've appeared as ""Narasimha P.V.R. Rao" <pvr".

With the current SMTP standard, it is easy to impersonate someone and send mails that appear to be from any desired email address. Someone can send mails that appear to be from pvr108 without knowing the password. Of course, it is also possible that someone hacked the password. I remember there was an issue a while back about stolen passwords at .

In general, one should be careful with mails that have suspicious attachments, no matter who the mail appears to be from. Think twice before you open any suspicious attachments and check with the supposed sender if necessary.

On a separate note, I will be in India during Feb 12-March 9. I will be doing Satya Narayana vratam at at my in-laws house in SR Nagar, Hyderabad on Feb 12 night (Magha Pournima). I will be happy to see any of you who live in Hyderabad there. I will be performing one more Satya Narayana vratam on Feb 19 night at Metpally (Karimnagar district, AP state). If any of you live nearby, I will be glad to see you at the vratam.

If any of you live in Chennai (Madras), I will be glad to meet you during March 2-7 at the "Sata Chandi Homam" at the Kalikambal temple in Chennai (Sata=100).

Actually, I have several reasons to believe that it will be a very blissful event and, irrespective of whether you want to meet me or not, do consider visiting the temple on atleast one of the 7 days of the homam (March 1-7) if you live near Chennai. I'll be there except on the first day.

I feel a little guilty about sending mails with no astrological content to astrology . Let me add a little astrological content.

Try progressing Sun's longitude by 3 deg 20 min (one navamsa) per year. Find the progressed longitude at the time of wedding. Find the longitudes of Venus, chara dara karaka and 7th lord of natal rasi chart. Check their longitudes in natal rasi chart and natal navamsa chart. Check if the progressed Sun at the time of wedding is close to one of these 6 longitudes or aspecting them closely!

May the light of Brahman shine within,

Narasimha
