Here's my attempt on Q1.

 

 

Q1 : What is the meaning of the word RAJAYOGA ? Explain with

examples.

 

 

 

YOGA means union and implies the coming together of two or more

aspects of life. This could be favorable(SUBHA YOGA) or unfavorable

(ASUBHA YOGA) depending on the signs, planets and houses involved.

 

Raja means KING or King-like.

 

Hence RAJAYOGA means planetary combinations for rise in one's Work,

Job, Avocation or Profession.

 

The lords of KENDRAS(Quadrants : Houses 1, 4, 7 & 10 ) are described

as VISHNU-STHANAS or as houses of Lord Vishnu, the Protector, while

the lords of TRIKONAS(Trines : 1, 5 & 9) are described as LAKSHMI-

STHANAS or the houses of Goddess Lakshmi.

Lagna is both a Kendra and Trikona, and hence Lagna lord plays a very

important role.

 

Combinations of lords of Vishnu-Sthanas with the lords of Lakshmi-

Sthanas produce RAJAYOGA or combinations for Rise and Prosperity

 

Here is another way to look at this combination. The kendra houses

are called the houses of environment(Objective surrounding) and

trikona houses, the houses of merit(Your Subjective attitudes). When

the objective and subjective factors in a horoscope combine

harmoniously, they create by their confluence a powerful current, for

then conscious(subjective) attitudes becomes aligned with the

unconscious(objective) influences.

 

The following combinations are considered as RAJAYOGAS:

 

1. 1L & 4L

2. 1L & 5L

3. 1L & 7L

4. 1L & 9L

5. 1L & 10L

6. 4L & 5L

7. 4L & 9L

8. 5L & 7L

9. 5L & 10L

10. 7L & 9L

11. 9L & 10L

 

RAJAYOGAS can manifest in 3 ways:

 

a. If both are conjunct in one house.

b. If both are mutually aspecting.

c. If they have exchanged their places(PARIVARTANA). For example the

4L is in the 5H and the 5L is in the 4H.

d. If the 5L is in 7H and 10L is in 9H.

 

 

In this way 11 combinations described above could combine in the 4

ways giving rise to 44 combinations which must be seen closely for

sound prediction.

 

MODIFICATIONS:

 

If any of these combinations are without any blemish they give best

results in their period.

 

 

The Mahadasa may not be Rajayoga producing yet if the Antara and

PratyaAntara dasa produces Rajayoga, good results can be expected in

their periods which will be generally small but a good period.

 

 

The Mahadasa may be evil-producing but if Antara and PratyaAntara

dasa are yoga producing, it will provide respite and depending on the

strength of AD and PD lords may even produce good results.

 

 

YogaKaraka is a planet capable of bringing good fortune to the native

because of the ownership of 2 favorable houses of chart : Quadrant

and Trine.

For Taurus, the planet Saturn as the 9L and 10L.

For Cancer, the planet Mars as the 5L & 10L.

For Leo, the planet Mars as the 4L & 9L.

For Libra, the planet Saturn as the 4L and 5L.

For Capricorn, the planet Venus as the 5L and 10L.

For Aquarius, the planet Venus as the 4L and 9L.

 

If these planets Mars, Saturn and Venus for these Lagnas, Taurus,

Cancer, Leo, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius get connected with lord of

another Trikona, they become excellent. For Example :

 

1. For Taurus, Saturn and Mercury.

2. For Cancer, Mars and Jupiter.

3. For Leo, Mars and Jupiter.

4. For Libra, Saturn and Mercury.

5. For Capricorn, Venus and Mercury.

6. For Aquarius, Venus and Mercury.

 

Two excellent RajaYoga producing planets may get associated with an

owner of evil houses in such cases the Rajayoga will still be

produced with some obstruction and with some defects.

 

Consider the Directional strength of planets. Jupiter and Mercury are

strong in 1H, Moon and Venus in 4H, Saturn in 7H, Sun and Mars in 10H.

 

Planets involved in RajaYoga should also be well placed in Navamsa.

 

Dharma Karma Adhipati Yogas are the combinations of the lords of

Fortune and Action. This yoga is formed when the lords of Dharma

houses(Kona) and a Karma house(Kendra) combine.

 

If this Yoga is in the 1/7H it fructifies in later life and that too

after enduring a lot of hardsip and struggle.

 

 

FINALLY FOR ANY RAJAYOGA TO PREVAIL ONE SHOULD STUDY THE STRENGTH OF

SUN AND MOON. SUN FOR INITIATING AND MOON FOR SUSTAINENCE.

 

 

According to Sage Jaimini Rajayoga is combinations of Ak, Amk , Puk

and Dk.

1. Mars the Lagna lord combines with the 5L Jupiter forms a Rajayoga

in 6H.

2. The exchange of exalted Moon with Venus is another Rajayoga.

1. Rahu, Ketu and Sun are Vargottama.

2. Saturn and Moon occupy their own houses.

2. Mars 10L conjoins Venus 9L and YogaKaraka in 7H.

3. Sun and Mer are 5L and 7L.

4. Saturn is exalted like Mercury.

Sun Exalted, Mer is Vargottama and so is Mars.
