Thank you very much for answering. The dharma part made much sense. I have to

introspect a lot to comprehend this. Hope I would find answer to such dilemma

and get convinced.

Dear Sarajit,

I am not your Diksha Guru. This question is normally put to the Diksha Guru,

but I shall try.

 

It is your bounden duty to protect one who seeks your shelter, but then you

should not give shelter one and any, for this is not your Dharma. Tell the

person who has come following that " You did see the person and he was

running " . That way you are not lying but the implications in his mind are

that the person he was chasing has continued to run and he will run in the

direction. Now, ask the person as to why he did what he had done, and if you

are satisfied with his answer, then save him, else give him to the cops.
