When there is an argument on which of the two brothers is the rightful owner of his father's house, what is the point in arguing about who is the rightful owner of the FM radio in the house? What I mean is: when there is no consensus on bigger issues, why split hairs about other issues in isolation? As long as ayanamsa and geocentric vs topocentric positions (this makes a big difference for Moon) are unresolved, parallax issue cannot be resolved. One cannot decide the logical thing to do - whether to take the " true " positions of planets or the positions where they " appear " to be - unless one knows how (through what medium) planets influence us. Unless we know that, how can we conclude if the true or apparent positions should be considered? Logically, I don't think we are at a position where we can conclusively decide either way on the parallax issue.
