Guest guest
Pranaam Sanjay, It is right now Aashaadha Pournima. We celebrate it as Guru Pournima or Vyasa Pournima. I am grateful for the all knowledge you have so kindly given me and I will strive to be a worthy sishya. I am grateful for your patience with me and the encouragement you have given me to think freely and argue with you. There are very few gurus like you who are so open-minded and tolerant. May the blessings of Vyasa Deva be with you and SJVC! > I have given you the casis for the standardisation. can you > give me any basis for the 6.05 time? If not then what is > the meaning of this time. If 6:00 am LMT is the exact sunrise time on the equinox at *every* place in the world, then you have a basis for 6 am. It was hasty of me to think that a logical person like you could come up with something arbitrary. However, I am not sure if the day is 6:00 LMT to 18:00 LMT at equinox in *every* place of the world. I will give a more balanced reply after I do more study. > > > I have a question for you. On the other > > hand, zodiac (Maha Vishnu) was the first thing to exist. It was > > divided into 12 equal parts and the first one (head of Vishnu) > > was called Aries. > > Why was the head in Aries and not in Leo? Head is the first part and feet the last. So head is in the first rasi of the zodiac and feet in the 12th rasi. The names did not exist first and Mahavishnu (zodiac) existed first. The names were given later. The first rasi (head) was called Aries and the last was called Pisces. ( " Tad Vishnoh paramam padam sadaa pasyanti surayah " from Rig Veda seems to explain why Pisces is considered the rasi of Maharshis in astrology.) I will ponder over other issues. BTW, you mentioned the issue of 12 diva horas and 12 raatri horas and talked about the problem with high latitudes. The problem will be there with your approach also. With your approach also, the number of horas in the day and night will not be 12 always. Whatever problem you mention with horas at high latitudes exists for lagna, BL, HL, GL also. What is your comment on those? BTW day and night are not equal at Makara Sankranthi as you said. It should be in March and September.
