Some interesting applied research on Parashara Hora Sastra

I have been doing a bit of research recently this morning, and came across a

dictum in Parashara about the mutual placement of AL and A7 as a

pre-requisite for the maturation of Raja Yogas.

 

For the raja yogas in a chart to mature, the AL and A7 must be in mutual

kendras, trines or 3/11 relationship. 6/8 and 2/12 would prevent the raja

yogas from maturing.

 

Having two excellent charts in my family with the same ascendant and with

powerful Raja Yogas where it has manifested in one chart but not in the

other I decided to try it out. Both have Scorpio ascendants. Both have the

sun conjunct moon in good houses giving a dharma-karma adhipathi yog.

 

Chart 1 - Raja Yoga matured from Venus dasa onwards. Currently in mars dasa.

 

Scorpio - Ascendant, saturn

Aries - 6th - Ketu

Taurus - 7th - Mars

Leo - 10th - Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus

Libra - 12th - Jupiter, Rahu

 

In this AL was conjunct the A7 in the 10th.

 

This person has been spectacularly successful. Is very career oriented, very

ambitious in a quiet way, likes people, and is supported enormously by his

wife in every way. Has a good family life and is very close to his children.

He also has rulers of A9 and A10 conjoined in the 10th. He started with 2

A/Levels only. Has never studied at university, but is doing an MBA now as

part of his career development. Does not have to go looking for jobs,

companies come to him asking him to work for them.

 

Chart 2 - Raja Yoga did not mature. Had an ordinary life but a happy one

after sun, moon periods started when life settled down.

 

Scorpio - Ascendant

Pisces - Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu

Aries - 6th - Mercury

Taurus - 7th - Venus

Cancer - 9th - Jupiter

Virgo - 11th - Ketu

 

In this AL was in 9th and A7 in 10th giving the 2/12 relationship.

 

Earlier parts of life had some traumatic times, but always has been lucky at

the right time. No career until later in life, mainly as a teacher and later

as a consultant in a government office. Has the strong sense of strategy

that would be expected of the 5th house. Artistic. A figher for causes -

mars with sun and 9th ruler.

 

Interestingly, knowing both very well, I would say that the second person

was always more concerned with character and development. e.g. when she had

her first child, encouraged the child to give away possessions as she was

concerned that as an only child she could become selfish. Makes decisions on

the basis of happiness rather than material wealth - quite unusual these

days. Loves gardening and looking after pets.

 

The capacity is there to be successful in a career. But not the opportunity

at the right age, nor the strong motivation to be a success. Other things

matter too much for sustained effort in a career.

 

A third chart which illustrates the same principle:

 

Chart 3: Yoga has matured very well, though perhaps not as early as and not

as much results as Chart 1. Currently in Jupiter dasa. Has done very well

during this except for a major health scare.

 

Capricorn - Ascendant

Aquarius - Jupiter

Pisces - Rahu

Virgo - Ketu, Moon, Saturn

Libra - Venus., Sun,. Mercury

Sagittarius - Mars

 

AL in Taurus and A7 Scorpio - mutual kendras

 

I have quickly tested out this for Bill Clinton (A7/AL conjunct), Bill Gates

(AL/A7 in 6/8 ), Adolf Hitler (AL/A7 opposite each other), Al Gore (in

6/8th), George Bush Jr (in 2/12), Indira Ghandhi A7/AL conjunct), Tony Blair

(AL/A7 in 5/9th).
