I'm sticking to my guns on this one, am not convinced.

 

Yes 3rd and 8th are only for circumstances, however restricting it to the Sthira Karakas for relatives, can't be right.

 

The Arudha Lagna shows the Maya associated with the person. And thus the Maya associated with relative can also be seen.

 

The circumstances of the death of this Maya should be seen for every relavtive.

Where in this whole scheme doesn't this seem logical?

Yes offcourse, the Dharma houses of the Sthira Karaka can give Death, that makes sense, but this is timing.

 

 

As for Timing:

Sanjay has given the following guidelines to time death using shoola Dasa;

 

The Rudra and its trines(trishoola).

Rasi contaiing Arudha Lagna.

*Rasi's aspecting 3rd from Arudha Lagna.*

etc...

 

Now this should be considered for all relatives.

As per my understanding, the 3rd or 8th from AL or AK indicate the circumstances of death for the native. However, for other relatives, Jaimini recommends using the Sthira Karakas of the relatives in UPSJ 2.2. Actually, he giv es a general rule for sthira Karakas, and for self there's an exception, as the Sthira karaka for self would be the Sun, but then it wouldn't be variegated enough to indicate different death circumstances for different natives. Therefore for self it is determined that we look for death circumstances based on the 3rd or 8th from Chara AK or Arudha Lagna, as death is the end of the body. My understanding is that usually the strongest of the four (or two if AL is in AL) will indicate the death circumstances. As for D-11 I don't know, I never tried. But we should note the difference: these houses are used for determining the death circumstances, and not timing it. For timing death (see the same Pada of 2nd Adhyaaya in UPSJ) either the Sthira Karaka itself, or the Rudra from it (i.e. the stronger from the lords of 8th house from Karaka or its 7th). But for Shoola Dasa the starting Rasi is always the respective house indicating that relative or the 7th from it. Shoola Dasas for mother start from 4th or 7th from it, for father from 9th or 7th from it. So death may happen in trines to Sthira Karak or Rudra planet. Let's see this in the case of the sample chart of this devotee (see chart at end of message):

 

Sthira Karakas for father are Sun and Venus, both in Scorpio. So father's death is possible in Shoolas of watery signs. The 8th from 9th is Pisces, oerded by Jupiter, while the 7th from it is Virgo lorded by Mercury. Mercury is stronger conjoining 4 planets. Still father's death happened in Aquarius Shoola Dasa, having Jupiter there. This was the first Dasa in Pitri Shoola Dasa, which starts either from 9th or 3rd house.

 

Mother's Sthira Karakas are Moon or mars, I take Mars here to be stronger, as it is the AK. So mother's death should be expected in Matri Shoola Dasa of airy signs. The lords of 8th from it are either Venus or Mars or Ketu. Mars is AK and is already Matri Sthira karaka, so Venus can be also taken as she conjoins the dreadful combination in 12th house. Therefore again, watery signs are possbile to give effect. Matri Shoola Dasa begins from 4th house (Pisces) which is in trines from the 12th house, so it can bring mother's death.

 

Now, for Vimsottari, the Marakas for any house (and the relatives indicated by them will be the planets falling into or lording or aspecting the 2nd or 7th from the given house. Parasara gives this onyl for self, but I think that it can be extended to toher houses as well. Death happened in Sun/Mars or Sun/Rahu Vimsottari dasa. In D-12 both Sun and Mars aspect the 10th house that I was talking about. In Rasi they also have some influence on the 10th house, as Sun conjoins and combusts its lord, while Mars disposits it.

The 3rd from Arudha Lagna, in Rasi chart shows the circumstances of the natives death.

The same done in Shastiamsa would show the death in past lives.

We must also use the 3rd form Arudha Pada to determine death in the Ayur- Rasi- Dasa's.

 

Thus the above is applicable to any relative too.

 

Why?

Because 3rd and 8th houses are maraka houses of the person, and we're taught to see the 3rd from the respective Arudha Pada to see the maya surroinding ones death. As this Maya would be the percieved viewpoint of the world.

 

Sanjay has also made reference to this position, when determining the circumstances at death, however has advised us only to make a superficial statement in the rasi chart, and further determination is done from 8th in Rudramsa.

 

Example:

Mohandas Gandhi: Oct 2nd 1869, 7:33 AM 4:38 east of GMT (69e36;21n38)

 

He Has Sun in 3rd from Arudha Lagna in Rasi. This notably is also aspected by 3rd from Atmakaraka, however i'll make no assumptions on this.

 

In D-11 he has Cap lagna.

8th house leo is aspected by debilitated Saturn, showing untimely death. 8th lord is with Exalted Rahu and debil-Mars aspects, showing that he was assinated by a frustrated and angry person.

 

He was assasinated(rahu+mars) by an angry agressive man(debil-mars), carrying a gun(sun rules small weapons).

 

Also he was assasinated in a garden(Jupiter), with his nieces walking with him which could have been seen from Bhatrikarak's debilitation or maybe Mercury.. worth looking into definitely.

 

 

The position givin argalas to all this is 4th house, which has lagna lord Saturn and Arudha Lagna.

 

The Arudha Lagna in this respect could show the maya(Arudha) associated with him(AL) leaving his body(d-11), the 4th house would show that he did so in his home.

 

All this information came through reading through the archives.
