Guest guest
" Gopijana-vallabha-caranau sharanam prapadye. " " Namo gopijana-vallabhabhyam " Dear Group, Namaste Based on Sanjay Rath’s teaching, I would like to give a recap. Linga comes from the word A-Linga, the place of abode and the deity is the base. There are twelve incarnations of the Lord in the form of Jyotirlingas. Ramesha Lords the sign Mesha and His form in Setubandha was installed and duly propitiated by Rama who was the granted the boon of victory. The devotee enjoys worldly pleasures and obtains perfect knowledge. Mantra: Om Namah Shivaya Rameshswaraya. Somanatha Lords the sign Vrishabha and He annilated the distress of the Moon. Somesha manifested His form in Saurashtra. His mantra Om Namah Shivaya Somanathaya dispels the ailments of consumption, leprosy etc. The sight of His Linga blesses his devotees with worldly pleasure and salvation. Nagesha Lords the sign Mithun and He manifested (with Parvati) in the forest of Daruka (near Kedara in Garhwal on the Ganga). His form was known as the chastiser of the wicked for his devotees by saving the merchant king, Supriya from the rakshasa, Daruka. By worshipping this form, heaps of sins immediately perish. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Nageshwaraya. Omkara (Amareshvara) Lords the fourth sign, Karka and His earthern Linga was devouted installed by Brahma in Omkara Mandhata and is a bestower of desires of worldly pleasures and salvation for His devotees. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Omkareshwaraya. Vaidyanatha Lords Simha and He lords the cremation grounds for the sake of Ravana. Vaidyanatha became famous in all the three worlds. His form brings worldly pleasures and salvation. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Vaidyanathaya. Mallikaarjuna Lords the sign, Kanya. He manifested on the Shrishaila mountain. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Mallikaarjunaya. Mahakala Lords Tula and He manifested in Ujjayini for the protection of His devotees. The demon, Dushana was a defiler of vedic rites who detested brahmanas. The sons of the brahmanas meditated on the Lord in this form in Ujjayini where the demon was reduced to ashes by a mere Humkara. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Makakaleshwaraya. Ghushmesha Lords Vrischika and He manifested in the Shiva Temple at a lake near the Devashaila mountain to revive Ghushma’s son who was killed by Sudehya. The devotee who see the Linga there and worships this form, attains happiness and salvation thereafter. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Ghumeshwaraya. Vishvesha Lords Dhanus and He manifested in the city of Varanasi in the form of the Cosmic Egg which yields worldly salvation and pleasures. He is always worshipped by Vishnu and all other Devas including Kuvera and Bhairava. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Vishveshwaraya. Bhimashankara Lords Makara and He manifested in the city of Dakini (on the bank of the Bhima River, NW of Pune). His mantra is Om Nama Shivaya Bhimashakaraya. Kedara Lords Kumbha. On the request of the two-fold in carnations of Vishnu, Nara and Naaraayana, He stationed his Linga on the Himalaya and is also the bestower of all desires. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Kedareshwaraya. Tryambaka lords Meena. Tryambaka is the incarnation of the Moon-crested Lord Shiva who manifested His Linga at the banks of the Gautami River at the request of Gautama Muni. At the sight and touch of the Linga, all desires, pleasures and salvation fructify. His mantra is Om Namah Shivaya Tryambakeswaraya. Compare Kendra from Chandra and Trikona from Arudha Lagna. Take my chart as an example: Moon is in a movable rasi. My AL is in Simha (Agni tattva). The movable agni sign is Mesha. Mars is posited on my lagna and has aspect over Rahu. In case there is any Preta Bada, it can be removed by the mantra Om Namah Shivaya Tryambakeswaraya. All mantras are to be chanted 108 times. Anyone else who’ve attended the conference, I would appreciate your inputs. Love, Swee
