Various Dashas

Dear Guruji and all my esteemed classmates,

 

I am slightly bewildered by the usage of different

dashas for different kinds of analysis. For the past

2 years, I have found the Vimsottari dasha system

pretty helful. Now I learn that, no Dasha system

except Moola Dasha explains Shri Rama's life.

 

Also, Guruji writes that Dashas are indifferent to

various Yugas, which bewilders me some more! Can

anyone explain upon the various Dasha's usage in terms

of their accuracy or the areas they throw light upon?

 

Finally, I have Jupiter in Dhanu in the sixth house.

When I calculate Moola Dasha period for Jupiter, I

have Jupiter 12th from its own house or in the same

house. Thus, is the calculation going to be:

 

1) 16 - (12-1) = 5 years or

 

2) 16 - (0-1) = 17 years.
