Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Bipin, Your confusion may be eased if you look at the actual sanskrit used instead of saline. Also, how about looking at Saturn for Rahu? Mercury is always mishra; in this case mishra tattva. Om Namo Bhagavate Param Gurave Dear Swee, Hare Krishna Im just sharing my realisation here and consolidating my thoughts. Saline confused me for clear water and I never thought of it as salty (which is obvious). Saline is actually " a liquid with salt concentrate content to match the human body " so this clears that up. I solved my other mystery of 6 tastes according to ayurveda vs 7 according to Parashara. Its amazing how one can overlook the obvious. What is so special about Jyotish, Ayurveda and Vastu, is that they all perfect sciences, each corroborating and overlapping each other without any ambiguity. Parashara also only talks about 6 tastes, with the 7th being mixed. This is a classic case where one cant just rely on only one science as the others are just as important in bringing things into context. Including a mixed taste and allocating planets makes this complete. Best Wishes Bipin 2008/8/9 Swee Chan <swee Jaya Jagannatha Dear Bipin, Hare Krishna Parashara in in 3:34 where he lists tastes from the Sun onwards as Pungent, Saline, Bitter, Mixed, Sweet, Aciduous and Astrigent. Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavate ParamguraveDear Sarbani, NamasteI agree, one should always revert back to the sanskrit in situations of doubt - will remember next time.I tried finding the meaning of Kshar (saline/salty as per the sloka in 3:34) in Monier Williams, but just couldnt find it to follow up on the sanskrit. Could you please refer me as my sanskrit is very basic. Guest guest
Dear Bipin Page 327/1. According to Panini Samchalana (1132/1) gives a clue to the meaning of Kshar. Look at 327/2/as well. Regards Gordon
Guest guest
Dear Bipin The meaning of salty comes out with Kshaar rather than Kshar, then from Kshaar there are a lot of terms relating to salt - like salt ocean, etc. The large version of Apte's dictionary gives lots of examples. There are a few in MW too if you read on to the entries for Kshaar, etc. Regards Gordon
