Dear Agathiyarians,

 

It has been forecast that there will be a solar eclipse on the

22/07/09.

In other countries, amongst most other people, this is just another

natural occurance.

Hindu beleif attributes a lot of significance to eclipses.

There are also some other races who think so.

This time around, the eclipse is supposed to be very significant in

the sense that there are 3 eclipses in a row, each at 15 days interval. Two

lunar eclipses and one solar eclipse in between them.

On previous occassions, there have been wars and all that.

But this time some people expect a tsunami.

Eclipses, whatever their effect may be. In Malaysia, they bring

fortune to the temples and the pusaris.

The pusaris usually will be raking in money.

And these people are certainly innovative.

A lot smarter than one of our members - you know who :-)

Now, since there is an expectation of a tsunami, a pusari or swamiji

has come up with a new scheme.

He is organising a 'Kadal Homam'.

This going to be done at the sea shore.

But why on earth does the wise guy expect a tsunami at the western

sea-board on Peninsular Mayasia?

It can hit any part of the earth at any place?

If does not come to Malaysia, he would say that he prevented it from

hitting Malaysia.

If it does not come at all, then he would claim that Samudra Raja was

satiated and that he perfromed the homam as a 'Logaan smastha sukhinO

bhavanthu'.

Malaysian Hindus are being progressively immersed into a mire of

senseless surperstition and ritualism/shamanism.

The Malaysian Hindu organisations and temples also are behind

creating this type of mind-set.

Because they know no better.

And this superstition and ignorance is much to their advantage.
