Guest guest
There are two! The one generally offerred as the Bhavat bhavam deals with the famous homeopathic principle of 'similia similibus ... " So if 8th from lagna represents longevity, then the 8th therefore must also represent longevity. Thus the 8th and 3rd house are considered for longevity and the houses 12th therefrom and representing the loss of longevity (2nd and 7th) are considered as the MARAKA Bhavas! There is also another principle which treats each bhava as lagna (Bhavat lagnam?)! In this, each bhava is treated as the first house and the other houses are treated just as one would in a natal horoscope (trikas creating problems, trinas good and so on...). There is also the more general corollary of this which deals with the Kalpurusha Horoscope! Three separate principles which 'apply' but must not be confused as being one!
