Q:: How to assess the probable profession, in Vedic Astrology, for living?

The 10th house in any individual’s horoscope indicates about one’s

livelihood and professional prospects in his life. This is summarized from 2nd,

6th and 10 house of his horoscope. These houses represent the temporal status of

the native like embracing his actions; honor and credit.

The 10th house of the Birth Chart broadly represent business, professional

standing, and position in society. The sixth house said to represent the mode of

service, wealth assimilated comforts, subordinates and co-workers, while the

second house represent the earning and focus on the totality of earning career,

elevating in the social status.

 

Vocation is not determined , however, from the 10th house alone. A detailed

explanation is required to understand other properties to arrive at the correct

inference on this. Under “Bhavath Bhava†rules, the 2nd house* of the Chart

from Lagna, is the 5th house from the original ‘10th house’ taken for

consideration. Similarly, the 6th house in the chart will be the 9th house from

the original ‘10th house’ in discussion. That is the 6th house in the chart

is the 9th house from the ‘10th house’ considered as ‘Bhagya stana’ for

‘10th house‘. Obliviously, this 6th house of the chart will indicate the

worldly attainment from the work and contributions to comfort from the ‘10th

house’.

 

* The second house (Finance) reveals the potential of the native for a position

to earn;

This house will unveil the potentiality to be rich or poor/adequate or

inadequate. The 2nd house of the chart is also relates to Trade or Business

dealings. Therefore, this house will give lead to assess earning capacity of

individual.

 

The 10th House in the chart is judged by the Planet/s occupying in that house.

That is, say The Sun is occupying that house, check the relationship of The Sun

with the owner of that house. Then, check to find that any planet is in aspect

to that house. Find where these related planets are positioned and their

strength. (Example ::If the Sun is positioned in Libra (Thula) he is

‘Depleted’ in that house, thereby, he becomes week in the 10th house

occupation: and has aspect, say, from Saturn with 3rd look from Leo (Simha), the

Sun loses further power as the look from Saturn damages the work position.

Saturn is then Lord of Capricorn (Makara), which would be Lagna, since Thula is

the 10th house to Capricorn. This will fluctuate mental emotions to deteriorate

any progress in work place

 

Vimshothri Desa, and Bukti are the prime factors relating to the above effects

to come in operation in that person’s life. Most significantly the prime

factors, will be the assessment of planets in houses 2,6, and 11 and along with

the major effects of the strength assessed as above of the 10th house lord.
