Guest guest
If somebody wants to see Venus by naked eyes than he may if he just put his head to the West (After Sun-Set) or the East (Before Sun-Rise).... Why as we all know that ratio of Venus and Earths speed is 7:5 approx and Venus is inferior planets so we can see just near to Sun and Its speed is more than earth so definitely some times it would be ahead of Sun and sometimes lag behind Sun. So now we see from the VERSES of Rig-Veda But before that i also want to let tell all ppl history, Everybody would be knowing about the Gandharva Dynasty and they were famous for APSARAS and beauty of their place in Mahabharata time... They were located North West of Kailash just above of Harappan civilization... They were not so Vedic ppl as they had grave culture but they later started following Vedas and started speaking Sanskrit. They took Sanskrit with them and spread it to Europe(Russian Part). In my view the given verses have been written in Punjab as from there i think Gandhrava dynasty will go to EAST and Arabian ocean will go to West... Now from Verses of Rig-Veda.... As Evening Star :- ********************************************************************************\ ************************ First Verse :- 1. SEE, Vena, born in light, hath driven hither, on chariot of the air, the Calves of Pṛśni. Singers with hymns caress him as an infant there where the waters and the sunlight mingle. Second Verse :- 2 Vena draws up his wave from out the ocean. mist-born, the fair one's back is made apparent, Brightly he shone aloft on Order's summit: the hosts sang glory to their common birthplace. Third Verse :- 8 When as a spark he cometh near the ocean, still looking with a vulture's eye to heaven, His lustre, joying in its own bright splendour, maketh dear glories in the lowest region. ********************************************************************************\ ************************ As Morning Star :- ********************************************************************************\ ************************ First Verse :-  4 Knowing his form, the sages yearned to meet him: they have come nigh to hear the wild Bull's bellow. Performing sacrifice they reached the river: for the Gandharva found the immortal waters. Second Verse :- 7 Erect, to heaven hath the Gandharva mounted, pointing at us his many-coloured weapons; Clad in sweet raiment beautiful to look on, for he, as light, produceth forms that please us. Third Verse :- 8 When as a spark he cometh near the ocean, still looking with a vulture's eye to heaven, His lustre, joying in its own bright splendour, maketh dear glories in the lowest region. ********************************************************************************\ ************************ Link of the same is below :- http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/rigveda/rv10123.htm In above Verses, one will also find all the characteristics of Venus which we consider now-a-days in JYOTISH.  In Rig-Veda, they have shown characteristics of Venus and also have talked how one can see it and it is in very raw format, now one may imagine what works could be oldest in the world. Assyrians only rectified trajectories and after that implemented characteristics of planets in astrology. No where in the world anybody have talked in this way the characteristic of planet all old works(except VEDAS) directly implemented it.  Whatever characteristic is defined in the Verses whole world use same characteristics in astrology now.  Only Assyrians were the bridge to spread astrology to western world (Babylonians, Sumerians  Egyptians and Mesopotamians were nill in astrology and astronomy as all tablets have been found from Ashur Banipal’s library) were now they are finished because of Christians and Jews. They killed them and forced them to convert. And now those Assyrians are Germans (mainly), French, Italian, Greeks.  I have already told how Persians and Assyrians were part of VEDIC ppl....  As there was fight between ASHURA and DEVA in olden days and we also find its story in PURANS...related to CHURNING OF SEA BY DEVAS and ASHURAs... I will also show VERSE to show about the 8 paths of VENUS....and in the same way Persians and Assyrians were locating in ancient time…. In original Parashara Samhita has used mainly 6 paths (might be they would have further rectified it) Regs, Prashant Pandey   The INTERNET now has a personality. YOURS! Guest guest
Anybody may introduce new coordinate system to astronomy and may introduce astrology in new format but who will tell characteristics of Planets which are being used in Astrology.  Who sensed its characteristics in Ancient times !  And about it, there are many VERSES in VEDAS for all 7 planets. and they also wrote about the trajectories of planets on which format Ancient astronomy erected like of Babylonians (Means like of Assyrians), astronomy written in Surya Sidhanta and astronomy introduced by Ptolemy (Thief or one may say Blogger of Ancient time)  Ptolemy even didn’t introduce the constellation, it is also work of Indians, Old Indians who departed and diffused to some other place. And now they have lost their identity, who ever diffused from Ancient Bharat or migrated to any other place, they lost their identity.  Regs, Prashant Pandey  --- On Sat, 21/11/09, Prashant <praspandey wrote: Prashant <praspandey VENA as Morn. & Even. Guest guest
Dear Pandey_jee, If I may be allowed to introduce a simple perturbation and formicate this august discussion: Pragmatically-speaking, what would sustain the attention of the forum, this and many others is not the origin or history (real, observed or conjectural, etc!) but its application and utility in modern times -- also known as (AKA) the Here & Now! All august and scholarly discussions, pontifications and other 'emissions' will be meaningless to the majority unless what we all are discussing about has relevance and not just to the minority of astrophiles (not including those that follow the newspaper astrological readings and columns and the marasmic clientele of astrological books, magazines, JOURNALS and NewsLetters, on and off Internet! I see ongoing crusades amongst the relatively handful (in a population of more than 6 billion human beings -- not counting the parrots and mainaas and Bulls and other animals that are used by some astrologers!)-- and I wonder who these historians and astro-archeologists are writing for? Or What for or WHY? The majority wants to know if it is even worth their while to pick up the free chronicle on Astro-Archeology on a daily basis, perhaps several times daily! And to read or to use as table mat on which they can put their sandwich or pav-bhaji lunch so that the scraps can be whisked away and leave their work-table clean! First focus on the practical utilization of astrology and work to provide evidence for its raison d'etre in modern world, here and now reality -- before theorizing about its even more nebulous origins and what you folks are fighting about for so long without reaching any conclusion or providing any evidence that can be posted outside a jyotish forum! OUTSIDE -- where the real acid test begins and most arguments end, debates that thrive in jyotish forums on and on without any progress, resolution or purpose! Guest guest
Haha! Similar to a new healing system ;-) One must first demonstrate healing before describing and theorizing about its modus operandii and mechanism etc.! There exist many unproven healing systems as we see all over the place. Let Astrology not join the long queue of those! Guest guest
Dear friends, When one contests the views of the western scholars such as of Prof. Witzel, even when they could be wrong, one has to adrress the issues in an academic fashion and there should not be any rhetorics and exclamations such as " Ha Ha Ha' etc. Further it is better if it is possible to give the appropriate references (such as Rig Veda 1.162,18) when contesting the views of these academicians as otherwise they may brush aside all such writings as mere assertions and rantings.
