Thus our lunar tithes are tropical or seasonal. 2. The lunar months and dates are also connected to the nakshyatras by the names of the full moons- the month of Chaitra coming from chitra nakshaytra and the month of Vaisakh coming form visakha nakshaytra . Thus the nakshyatra oriented nirayan lunar months with the full moons and lunar seasons need the nirayan solar sankrantis to control them. This is why the adhimases are controlled by the nirayan sankrantis. Each lunar months fluctuates along with the full moons which fluctuates 15 days before and after the nirayan sakranti within every third year. 3. From points 1 and 2 above we come to know that each full moon needs both the sayan sankranti and the nirayan sankranti to give undisputed season to the fullmoon and the lunar dates upon which our festivals are based . Each full moon is thus the basis of coordination of the two sankrantis, the season giving sayan sankranti and the season controlling nirayan sankranti. 4. If our festivals are not controlled according to the seasons, then our festivals become like the Islamic festivals which may sometime move into summer and sometime into winter, going right round the year every thirty years. Also in our vedic festivals, if we do not correct our calendar and festivals according to the precession of the equinoxes it also has that tendency to go right round the year every 25,800 years. From this fact, the seasons shifts one full moon zone every 2150 years. Thus we have to shift our nirayan sankrantis every 2150 years, to give undisputed seasons to our festivals and coordinate it with the sayan sankranti. This is the necessity of our vedic coordinated system of calendar, where the sidereal positions of the sun and the moon are coordinated with the seasons too. 5. Presently, the season have moved too far, so that the solstices and the equinoxes have shifted from the original full moon zones to the new full moon zones. It is thus time to shift one full month backward, to bring the festivals to their respective seasons. We thus have to reform our present vedic calendar now and we have to call our present Chaitra as the new Vaisakh to reform it to the correct seasonal position. --- End forwarded message ---
