try their support/sales line. Geovision has possibly one of the best after-sales

service. They are prompt and responsive! At least that has been my experience!

During a recent email-exchange, the service agent told me that the new versions

run well on windows 7 o.s.

Good luck and please share with us your experience and any tips you receive. So

that we do not end up asking them the same thing again and again!

Happy New Year!

Thanks brathru. I'll try that route and see what happens. Even though the

program is old, I've gotten used to its features for analysis and synthesis.

It is a fantastic program overall!

Way back in early 90's when these programs were in their DOS and early windows

version, I found serious errors in calculations of things such as shadbala in

some others, including one Visual Basis-based software which claimed to have

been certified by a famous teacher and his students who used that software. I

tried several programs then and finally decided to use Parashara's Light. It has

its problems and idiosyncrasies and quirks but it is best to work with a 'known'

Devil, as they say, rather than otherwise!

You are smart to have stayed with the same version for so long. While you may

have missed out on some of the newer features, with each version change, I have

noticed new problems with several of these programs!

Which is understandable because the jyotish software market is not very

supportive or large (programming team has got to eat!) plus there is the huge

pirated black market from what I hear, at least in some parts of the globe! I

think if we all supported some of these programming efforts from early on and if

the programmers could form a consortium rather than spinning their individual

wheels, we would have ended up with a better and fewer or perhaps ONE product.

Would have been a Win-Win situation!

Let us count our blessings! We finally have arrived at Windows 7! Now if I could

get a new computer that is capable of running it ;-)
