Dear Prashant Pandey,

You provided a good summary of celestial signatures that may make one

astrologer. Here I would like to two fundamental yogas. You may find them in the

charts of most of the astrologers.

******************

1) The 2nd and 5th houses or their lords having aspect/association of powerful

Jupiter indulges one in astrological subjects.

2) Jupiter when aspects/associates Mercury, generally produces a wise soul who

is well versed in reading and writing. In such cases, if either Jupiter or

Mercury owns/occupies/aspect 2nd or 5th house, one may shine as a learned

astrologers.

******************

Besides above, following are some combinations from standard jyotisha discourses

and nadi canons.

1) Mercury is in Scorpio, under aspect of Jupiter. One may become an outstanding

Jyotishi. <Suka Nadi>

2) If Mercury is in an angle while the 2nd lord is in exaltation, the native

will be a skilful astrologer. <Suka Nadi>

3) If Mercury is in kendara, 2nd lord in strong or Venus is located in the 2nd

or 3rd with a benefic, the native becomes foremost amongst the Astrologers.

<Sarvarth Chintamini>

4) When 10th lord occupies the navamsa of Mercury, the native will make his

livelihood by astrology and allied Shastras. <Jataka Parijatha>.

5) Moon in Leo, having aspect/association of Mercury may makes on talented

astrologer. <Brihat Jataka>

Some of my observations.

a) When Mercury and Saturn are simultaneously aspected by a strong Jupiter of

kendra or kona then native excels in the field of oriental subjects and

astrology.

b) Jupiter in 6th, having sambandh with Mercury merely gives interest in

astrology or palmistry. But does not make one professional astrologer.

c) Jupiter in 8th, 1st or 12th inclines one to become professional astrologer.

d) 2nd lord in 5th or 5th lord in 2nd having aspect of Jupiter yields interest

in vedic astrology or any ancient school of philosophy.

e) In the presence of yoga for an astrologer, if a kendra Mercury or 3rd house

or 3rd lord is aspected by Jupiter then native will be known by his astrological

writings (books, emagazine, blogs, etc.).

Sincerely,

M. Imran

Imran,

Very interesting observation regarding Jupiter in 8 and 12. I think, at the end

of the day to make professional progress in any field (including astrology), one

needs to have a good 10H/10L and good periods (dashas).

Sharma ji,

I agree with you, for what it is worth!

Also, over the years, I have noticed a confusion amongst many in discriminating

between the terms Astrologer and Divinator!

To my thinking and observation, astrologers while not necessarily oracles

actually use astrology and parsed that is ASTRO-LOGIC what most of us do.

ORACLES may use astrology as a launch-pad but they do not really need it,

anymore. They have aroused the Jyotishmati nadi that Shri KN Rao once told here

on the earlier incarnation of this forum, years ago! He was speaking from his

personal experience. His illustrious Mataji, Smt. Saraswani Devi had attained

that state towards the later part of Her Jyotish Saadhnaa, as I still remember

from those days when we had the privilege of hearing straight from KNR jee!

Anyone who takes a few minutes to unfold someone's bhavishya is not a Jyotishi

anymore but has advanced already!

How many Ph.D.'s are there who still wish to be addressed as B.Sc.'s?
