Guest guest
Guruji:: What are the combinations to be found in a chart for widowhood? – Rasu Iyer, Delhi.   Answer: Most commonly known astrology combinations for widowhood are based by the position of Mars.  All classical works suggest some common combinations for loss of spouse (Husband or wife) are listed below:  1.    If Mars occupies the 7th house from Lagna or the Moon, could indicate short life of spouse, after marriage. However, this condition will be very ‘weak’ if Mars is in its own house (Mesha or Vruchika), if Mars is bereft of aspect or conjunction of any Benific Planet – Jupiter, Venus, auspicious mercury and or The Moon- or positioned in Lagna, 2nd,4th, 7th, 8th or 12th houses from Lagna or the Moon; -“Jathaka Chandrika†2.    The Moon in Cancer – Kataka – in Saturn’s Trimsamsa can also widowhood in a girl’s chart; 3.    If the 7th Lord is malefic and Mars and Saturn are in the 7th or 8th house; 4.    Mars in the 8th House with 8th Lord and Lagna in a malefic Navamsa; 5.    Rahu joined by Mars and Saturn in the 7th or 8th House from Lagna in birth chart; 6.    Rahu in the 7th House from Lagna, the 7th House Lord cojoining the Sun in aspect from 8th House Lord; 7.    If the Lord of 8th House in a birth chart, with 7th Lord occupies 8th House and in aspect of Malefic Planet/s; And many more combinations are pointers for ‘widowhood’. All these combinations are related directly or indirectly, as also with positions of Mars in ‘Birth Chart' as well as in ‘Navamsa’, could be ‘pointers’.  Most classical works suggest a common remedy to find in both charts, that this Yoga- combination specifically related in the list above and others- is found in a boy’s birth chart, and similar Yoga is found in a woman’s chart for widowhood as above, it is said, that marriage between them leads to cancellation of this Yoga. They both could get married.  The next question will be - when would this happen? This requires a great depth of study of both Birth Charts. The event is usually traced to the combination of related Planets to cause such a mishap in Vimshothri Desha calculations as also the transits of Planets to support the ‘results’ arrived. If such support in ‘Gochara’ -transit of Planets- could not be traced, Astrologer must say, that the event may not happen. Similar such Birth Chart assessment along with ‘Gochara’ calculations, in the place of occurrence of either/or present at the time of it, will largely suggest for or absence of the mishap.  Another common guide line given under these conditions is that both should not be having parallel Same Planet’s Desha periods to contribute to these combinations.  However, these ‘pointers’ are to be studied in depth at the time of assessing ‘compatibility’ of both, before prescribing that they could get married.   A.V.Pathi,  Astrologer, specialising in Marriage match, Family problems, Education, Health, Progeny, Finance, and Litigation, etc., (Old 13) 25, Dr. Gopalakrishna Road.
