And that is exactly the reason as to why we should shun predictive gimmicks, which are propagated as Vedic astrology these days by " vested interests " , because none of or shastras has advised us to consult a soothsayer before embarking on any plan! If you have still any doubts, pl. ponder on the fact that Bhagwan Krishna advised Arjuna to fight till death, and if he got killed he would go to the heavens and if he won the Mahabharata war, he ( i.e. Arjua) would be the Lord of the earth! Ironically, Bhagwan Krishna did not divulge the outcome of the war before hand in spite of He being the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient Lord of Lords! Nor did He advise Arjuna to consult some soothsayer before entering the battle filed! <Unfortunately we are not able to appreciate them> Again, exactly, and that is why we run after jyotishis! But each one should know that his discovery is good for him alone and it is not to be imposed on others " We cannot question the Wisdom of our Ancients. They never had any vested interest or bluffed. All the principles laid down by them is for the good of the society in general. Unfortunately we are not able to appreciate them. Though times have changed the rules and regulations will hold good for any time to come for example the eclipse as mentioned by you. They were never wrong in understanding the Universe as we cannot and are incapable of understanding them and their principles. Let us respect our traditions and their wisdom. As such, before quoting such tidbits, pl. give the exact references! < Nakula was a great astrologer who predicted war far in advance!! > There is a saying, " If wishes were horses, beggars would ride them " . Whether or not beggars would ride them, jyotishis would certainly do so! As such, pl. stop this day dreaming! Jai Shri Ram!
