This is perhaps a good reason to embrace Internet as the medium for Astrology

and Astrologers. I believe there are about 200 professional resident Indian

Astrologers who have a presence on the Internet (own website, profile on a

portal, participation in forum etc) out of an estimate of 500,000 practicing

Astrologers in India. (Source: Various associations).

Dear Raj,

 

I do not think this perhaps is a best medium for astrology. Over the years spent

on astrology, with or without internet, it is fairly evident that astrology that

astrology should only be done for " swant sukhai " .

 

I do not really know if the internet astrology is a boon or bane for astrology.

Others can offer their comments because mostly what the anchors ask and mean and

how we perceive those questions often also depend upon our own state of mind and

thinking.

The paper coming from the same tree can be utilized to print a holy scripture or

Dear RR Ji,

If Europians think that they have superior knowledge than anybody that means

they are also experts in our age old Jyotish Shastra !!!!! If one reads the

1st and 2nd chapters of Prashna Margam, there it gives who can be a good

Astrologer, what are his duties etc.I may follow the age old system even

now.

When I was young, I used to see that whenever a person meets an Astrologer

and asks a Prashna or show the Horoscope etc.he/she never used to ask how

much he/she has to pay,rather he/she pays a certain amount in the form of

Dakshina and not as consultation charges which nowadays Astrologers are

charging.Jyotish is a *Divine Science* which should not be thought of a

loose subject.I strongly feel that there are many senior Astrologers in this

forum and I am sure they will agree with me.

With due respect to them, I dont want to write more.

Dear RR Ji,

Whenever any client comes to me,he/she asks me what is your charge and my

answer is it is upto you.The method of receiving Dakshina is also mentioned

in " Prashna Margam " . If you want, you can test me by sending any clients

to me.As per me, Jyotish is not a joke and I respect it too much.

I thought that in this list there are very senior Astrologers and any topic

on Jyotish related queries will be discussed with everybody's knowledge.So I

request you to share some of your knowledge,so that I can also learn

more.Because each Astrologer has his own method of analysis eventhough the

basic is same.I dont want to make fun of anybody who might have written some

Astrological analysis where some others feel that it is wrong rather I will

ask for more queries regarding such analysis till both get satisfied.

As to sharing the 'secrets' -- I have no access to any secret or exclusive texts

in Jyotish :-) Whatever I have learned has been due to Ma's kripa and books and

magazines purchased from the free-market. I have written a bit here and there

about my perceptions regarding jyotish etc and you may find them on

boloji.com/astro and SCRIBD, if you so desire. I must caution you though that

you may not find anything new or sensational in those :-)

I will read them slowly whenever I get time.Sometimes I also feel to write

some article but I am not getting time as I have clients to whom I wanted to

help whether they pay me Dakshina or not. Some 2-3 years before I wrote an

article about Tithis in Express Star Teller Magazine.

Seriously, this can be my moto too, not  necessarily for the same reasons

/considering this knowledge as a blessing and caring for it;

God fearing;  caring for people in distress- as majority of people seeking

advice are. I really don't understand astrologers who plant fear of curses,

disasters, leaving client in despair, confirming and enhancing client's fears-

.. charging or not charging, I believe that every astrologer must be humble and

aware of the fact that he is there to help, primarily /and many boost their egos

by exercising 'power' they imagine they have.

I've also seen those to be bad, ineffective, with poor predicting

skills- astrologers, and that's perhaps some justice /which makes them annoyed

instead of humbled- have we not seen that so often?/

And you Ramadas, with all the knowledge and experience we know you have, are

still humble, protecting sacred knowledge.

Ramadas, would you please quote Prashna Marga wrt  dakshina rule, when you get a

chance?
