< instead of negative criticism, in my opinion, positive criticism and

funding is the solution to propelling BHU to sincerely reform the Panchaang.

Right from 1985 to 2000 AD, I had been sending a copy of my Shri Krishen

Universal Ephemeris & Panchang to the HOD of jyotisha in BHU apart from to

the VC every year, by registered post, with a request to peruse the contents

and find for themselves as to how the " Shri Surya Siddhanta " the " divine

gospel " , for BHU was talking about a so called Sayana Rashichakra instead of

a so called nirayana Rashichakra! I never received any response, except for

an enquiry in disguise from the Personal Secretary of the then VC of BHU

asking me as to what Ayanamsah I used for my predictions!

 

As if that had not been made clear in the panchaangas!

 

To cut a long story short, I request you to go through the couple of

translations of the Surya Siddhanta at

 

http://www.wilbourhall.org/ with patience and see for yourself as to what

type of justice BHU scholars are doing even to " Shri Surya Siddhanta " ,

leave alone the Vedas, dharmashastras or Puranas!

 

The main problem with all such institutions and dharmacharyas etc. is that

they will lose their credibility if they admit now that all along they had

been using the wrong data/procedure for preparing their own panchaangas and

thereby deciding the fasts, festivals and muhurtas for the entire Hindu

community on wrong days! However hard one may try, it is impossible---and I

repeat----it is impossible---to make such institutions change their stands,

just because of false prestige.

 

I hope this statement of facts also is not taken as " negative criticism " !

Please note that BHU helped lift Hinduism up at a time when Hinduism was at

a low. Today, it's staff may be suffering from deluded prestige. However,

instead of negative criticism, in my opinion, positive criticism and funding

is the solution to propelling BHU to sincerely reform the Panchaang.

 

At the same time, BHU should note that there are other worthy institutions

who can be given the funding. Therefore, they should " clean " their Panchaang

" house " to enable donors to gladly give-up their hard-earned wealth to them.

It is only because of BHU's past good Karma that donors are willing to give

BHU the first priority.

hitch in sending a separate copy to Prof. Sachchidanand Mishra ji if I could

know his personal postal address.

<Seeing their Panchanga work, I find no room for such a high opinion. How

ever you may continue having such.
