Guest guest
Namaste, I don't know your chart, but do not jump to conclusion based on houses evaluated based on signs. It depends on the exact longitudes and that is the whole idea. If Saturn is in 1st and Sun is in 5th, the longitude difference from Saturn to Sun is anywhere between 90 deg and 150 deg, based on whether each planet is at the beginning or end of the sign. So the aspect of Saturn on Sun can range from 0% to 75%. The first column shown by JHora says " aspected body " . The next columns are aspecting planets (Sun, Moon, ..., Saturn, Rahu). If there is no number, that planet has 0% aspect on that aspected body. If there is a number, that is the percentage of aspect. For example, take the chart of " Ramakrishna Paramahamsa " (JHora installation includes a few default charts as the samples and this is one of them). You can see, Aspected Body Longitude (in D-1) Sun Moon Mars Mercury Jupiter Venus Saturn Rahu Venus 9 Pi 06' 10.33 " 1.84% - 14.00% - 79.55% - 7.63% - Venus has 79.55% aspect FROM Jupiter. Jupiter is in Ge and Venus is in Pi. However, Jupiter is at 14Ge34 and Venus is at 9Pi06. The angle from Jupiter to Venus is 264 deg 32 min. For the range 180-300 deg from a planet, the formula given by Parasara is to subtract the angle in degrees from 300 and divide the result by 2. It gives aspect on a scale of 0-60. We get (300-264.53)/2=17.73 (out of 60). If the angle is between 240 and 270 deg and the aspecting planet is Jupiter, Parasara asked us to add 30 tothe aspect (Jupiter has a 50% higher aspect than other planets on the 240-270 deg arc from him). So we get 47.73 (out of 60). As a percentage, this is 47.73x100/60 = 79.55. That is what JHora shows above. I will not be answering any further calculation questions. Please refer to BPHS. All translations give an identical translation. Dr Raman's " Graha and Bhava Balas " gives the same formulas too. Regarding how much weightage should be given, well, Parasara mentioned aspects everywhere as a means of influencing a house or a planet or an arudha pada etc. Aspects are very important. Obviously, thumbrules people use (based on counting signs) is merely a thumbrule. They are ok sometimes, but totally off from the precise formulas given by Parasara at other times. I personally would give a lot of weightage to the quantification of aspects as taught by Parasara. I have Jupiter at Cap in 8th house. Rahu in 7th house at, 8 Sag. Software shows Rahu aspecting 100% the Jupiter. There are other such aspects for which there seems no explanation. For example, Saturn is in first house and Sun in 5th. Yet they are aspecting each other. Saturn to Sun : 56%. Sun to Saturn 42%. Venus is in sixth house, yet aspecting the lagna. > > > > Also the planet doesn't aspect the sign itself? For example Saturn in Lagna doesn't add to the lagna itself in anyway? It is left blank.
