KP Astrology Software

I live outside of india and I learned that most softwares (Jyotishya

deepika and KP Astro) don't ship outside of India. I've given up. I

can't even get even the time locked demo version of KP Astro. I don't

mind buying a software that comes with a dongle so that in case of

harddrive loss i can install it on another box but software that's

locked to specific machine and when virus hits you or you lose hard

drive one needs to pay another $$$$ to buy that software. KP Astro

comes with a hardware dongle but they don't ship outside of India.

 

Hence, I've decided to write one using swiss ephemeries, without

using atlas file. I think people can get longitude latitude

information from many sites. I am planning to make it available in

public domain free of change using .NET GUI Version. The software

will be complately free from any charges and I'll post it here. Those

who are interested in source will give it under GNU license (for

free).

 

I'll give following features

 

1) Swiss ephemeries precision. (1st version)

2) Basic Horoscope mudule with KP New-Ayanamsha. (1st version)

3) Prasna module (1 to 249, and other one too) (1st version)

4) Vishomtarri dasha (1st version)

5) KP Daily moon transist into subs. (2nd version)

6) KP Sun transists into nakshatra and subs. (2nd version)

 

Now I have questions.

 

1) What is the formula for the new kp-ayanamsha. I know the old

ayanamasha formula.

 

2) I know about 1 to 249 lagna points and sub subs. What is the other

one? (2048? or something? Where can i get the details about that one?)

 

3) Do KP use true rahu or mean rahu?

chart so in the first cut I am planning to use north indian diamond

charts with JPG, and PDF file generation options.

 

I am sure by version 2.0 it will be the most complete software.

build something in public domain so after me public can take over and

add features they want. I might use sorceforge.net to post sources

and the binaries and binaries will be posted here. sourceforge. net

I'll stick to your format. Additionaly I'll create a JPG file for the

chart so one can attach as well, along with a PDF file. I was using

neil lang's astracadabra but it doesn't work on my smart

phone. " Visomttari dasa i can't see and it crashes in dasa " . I like

your format. The reason i want to use swiss ephemeries is it will be

very precise.

 

I'll create a project on sourceforge as soon as i have something to

post. I encourage the kp community to help beta test to create

this " KP Only astrology software " . It will be fun so see something in

public domain for free.

I noticed that in this 2193 system when the zodiac changes but the

nakshatra lord and sub lord and even the sub sub changes the new

number is assigned. This wasn't the case with the 249 system. Can you

please explain when the new number is assigned?

I am planning to release everybit of thing i can write. Hence, people at mass can test and give me feedback for better software. My ultimate goal is to write something that becomes useble to mass kp astrologers without paying big bucks or hardware licensing. I am planning to write only for KP for vedic astrology Jagannath hora has done very good Job.

 

Do I need to give option for both New KP ayanamsha and Old traditional KP ayanamsha (Swiss ephemeries have built in module for traditional kp ayanamsha).

 

The very first cut should be ready with in 15 days will only generate text file without kundali chakra but all the data like, dasa, planetory positions, house positions, lord, sub, subsubs. I am really excited....

Hi Vinayak,Oh most definitely! If you can provide a choice different KP Ayanamsa(s), it will be an added advantage. As you may have gathered during your interaction within this group, some people still use original KP ayanamsa while others have moved on to KPNA. I am planning to release everybit of thing i can write. Hence, people at mass can test and give me feedback for better software. My ultimate goal is to write something that becomes useble to mass kp astrologers without paying big bucks or hardware licensing. I am planning to write only for KP for vedic astrology Jagannath hora has done very good Job.

 

Do I need to give option for both New KP ayanamsha and Old traditional KP ayanamsha (Swiss ephemeries have built in module for traditional kp ayanamsha).

 

The very first cut should be ready with in 15 days will only generate text file without kundali chakra but all the data like, dasa, planetory positions, house positions, lord, sub, subsubs. I am really excited....

Instead of starting from scratch, my suggestion is to contribute to the existing open source project. It would be good to have coordinated efforts so that bringing really a good software becomes possible.
