Dear Members,

Will any one clarify my doubt about Retro.Planets?

(1) In KP system, especially in Horary, when Retro.Planets comes as RP, if it is in own star, the result will be delayed and that too upto the planet becomes direct and comes to the point from where it got retrograde. In other cases, it should be rejected, as it will not give the result.

(2) In Dr.K.R.Kar's theory, Retrograde planet is nothing in both Natal and Horary. It should be treated in normal way

as of other planets without Retro.

(3) In Astro Secret Vol.I, late Sri M.P.Shanmugam has stated that a Planet in Retro.motion, it will give the result of those houses for which it is Vrayadhipathi. For example, for Kumba Lagna, Jupiter is lord of 2 and 11 and they are vrayadhipathis to houses 3 and 12 to Jupiter L/O 2 & 11. So, when Jupiter is in Retro.motion, he will give the result of 3 and 12. This is quite new to me, as I have not come across this in any Vedic or KP Books or Articles.

I wish to know which is correct.

Regards, Astrologically yours,

Dear Ramaniji,

Regarding your confusion No.1: -As far as my knowledge goes your statement is mixed up. In Horary if the sub-lord is retrograde, the mater is delayed till it becomes direct and reaches the point from where it began retrogression and transits in a favorable sub.If the retrograde sub-lord transits in in own star or in star of any other planet which is also retrograde then the mater will fail. While considering the RPs, if any of them is retrograde it should be dropped.

Regarding confusion No. 2: -"Retrograde planet is nothing in natal" is right. It cannot be nothing in horary. In horary it is different as clarified in confusion No. 1.It cannot be taken in normal way. Retrograde planets, if capable of giving result, are stronger than when they are direct in motion.

Regarding confusion No.3:-The statement does not come under KP. If some one prefers to follow Traditional its his own pleasure. The statement cannot be substantiated through KP, what I suppose.

With due regards, and best wishes for the New-Year.
