Understanding Mars as a Yoga karka for Aries Asc wrt placement?

|om gurave namah | Respected Gurujis, BPHS states that for Mesh Lagna - even though Mangal is the Lord of Randhr Bhava, he will be helpful to auspicious Grahas. Does this shloka mean that even if Mars is badly placed (e.g: in 12th house) it will act as a benefic and a yoga karka? Any pointers or explanation in this regards are appreciated. Regards,Pranav
