However, every other reference says thatsohamsa , " Bharat Hindu Astrology " it is related to Venus. But I do agree with you. I have found the effects to be very healing and soothing. I was wondering why Venus would give these effects, especially since Venus is my 8th lord. I hope other learned members will add to this discussion. Another fact of Sphatik is that it is used as Shiva Lingas. The largest Sphatik Lingam is located in Sri Raghunatha Temple in Jammu (that is what it says in the temple) My adopted name is Bharat and not Bhaskar. The connection between Moon and pearl is etched in my mind now. I am trying to understand why I have been feeling calmer and more relaxed after wearing the sphatik. So this is because Mo is exalted in the Venusian sign of Taurus. Incidentally Taurus is my AL and Pisces is my Lagna. I wonder if it will have any effect on my AL/Lagna. Also, you mentioned that sphatik does not remove evil. What effect does sphatik have? Thank you. The Linga personifies the Consciousness, which when in " contact " with a Yoni (the base) brings about creation. The " semen " represents the spirit of Yagna or the giving. Venus, therefore, is not to be associated with the Linga. The Pearl that comes from an elephant is very dull and does not have any nacre (we have one in the family). The Pearl from the coconut (we have 2 in the family; I wore one round my neck for several years as recommended by my Guru) is not nacreous either. The Pearl from the bamboo has ridges like the knots on each bamboo node. The Pearl found in a sankha shell has less potency, according to Vishnu Dharmottara. Despite that, the trade wants to extortion infinite amounts because of its rarity. For a Piscean lagna, a benefic in the 8th bodes well. I have personally found that sphatik tends to keep your weight in check. I found a reference on Sphatika in the VRA (Case Studies, Chart 7-6, pp 304-305). There Sanjay-ji mentioned that Sphatika harmonizes the lunar vibrations and cools the system. This would be good for a native with excess of pitta. In Supriti-ji's chart, Lagna is Meena and Mangal is in 6th house in Agni Tattva rasi (Simha) and is with Ketu. The sixth lord is in exchange with 7th lord Budha (Budha in the Simha rasi). Thus Badhakesha is also involved. Further, Sani is also aspecting from the 2nd house. Sphatika maala will help in cooling her system. I think Supriti-ji's Guru Maa has given her the right advise. She should also eat lightly and be calm in conversation as she may be subjected to anger (from others) often. This being 4th from her AL, sphatika will promote happiness. I don't have the chart in front of me but I hope I remember it correctly. It is as direct as that and that too the same statement is supported in Vishnu Dharmottara. Let’s take the simple explantion of rasi drishti – if there is not drishti, there is no association. Hence, Venus cannot associate by choice. But let’s not deviate from our original discussion. ALL classics state that Pearls = Moon. Gemstones come from crystalisation and minerlisation – ruled by Mars and yet, Jataka Paritaka states otherwise, then gemstones are ruled by the Moon. Only Corals and Pearls are associated with the Moon. Sphatik orignated from the particles of Bala asura’s fat. We also know that in jyotish the Moon does not rule over fat – but Jupiter. So why not associate sphatik with Jupiter? If you say otherwise about crystalisation of magna and minerals, would you say that Diamonds found in the sea are associated with the Moon and Diamonds found on land are associated with Venus? NOT according to all the classics that I have read! By that extension, a white diamond found in dark alluvial soil is associated with Rahu. Now, this is going a bit too far! BTW, as far as my understanding goes, the colours of diamonds are only associated with varnas and devas.
