Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Members, Namaste I found an excerpt from the Kurma purana on the Gayatri. Can someone point out the significance? With much gratitude. Love, Swee One of the most sacred mantras that one can chant is the Gayatri. Before chanting, thirty-two-cells must be drawn, as shown, and the letters of the mantra must be written down in the cells, as indicated. To recite the gayatri, should read the letters as they occur in the numbered cells. That is, one starts with cell number one, moves to cell number two and so on and so forth. 5 13 21 29 28 20 12 4 wr sya pra se ja nah va tu 6 14 22 30 27 19 11 3 re dhi cho sa ra yo de vi 7 15 23 31 26 18 10 2 ni ma da va ro yo rgo tsa 8 16 24 32 25 17 9 1 yam hi yat dom pa dhi bha ta

Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Ru Soul, Namaste Thank you, much appreciated. The 2 numbers represent the 5th and the 9th houses. Love, Swee On 11/16/06 11:25 AM, " soulsadhak " <soulsadhak wrote: Hello Swee, the order in which these numbers are read make our eyes move in and anticlockwise direction moving towards the center. this moves the mind towards a state where it is able to enter concentraion. Also, this movement enances the movement of energy in it's natural direction within one's right (pingala - upward) and left (ida - downward) channels, this is until we reach 24. by the time we reach 32, we are posited back to the mooladhara chakra and we are more centered and rooted. do it 7 times (first round can be fast, but as you progress, go slower and slower) and let me know what you felt. PS: can someone explain what the lettes 25-32 stand for - i've never seen these in gayatri mantra.
