Jyotisharnava Navanitam in a dialogue between Siva and Parvati on the 5th House:

 

skandho vA bhairavo vApi bhauma saMbandhavIkShite|

upAsyA shAradA saimye viShNu syAt sAtvIkI gurai||930||

 

Meaning: (If the 5th) is occupied or aspected by Mars, the person will worship Skandha or Bhairava. Mercury denotes Saraswati and Jupiter denotes Vishnu (sattvic).

 

The remedy for a badhakesh in a trine is through offering of worship/mantras. Through the exchange, Jupiter “aspects” the 5th. Placed in the 9th, it also aspects the 5th. In navmasa, the retrograde Jupiter in it exaltation sign is seem to be in debility and is in maranasthana. Hence the curse can stem from a sattvic/brahmin mother.

 

Thinking aloud to qualify the statement above: consider the charakarakas as Jupiter is MK for the matri shaapa.
