EXERCISE 1: Find arudha padas of all the 12 houses in Chart 2. [Hint: Mars is with 2 other planets and Ketu is with only one planet. So Mars is stronger than Ketu and works as the lord of Sc. Saturn is alone and Rahu is with another planet. EXERCISE 2: Consider the following matters. Using standard references, you can figure out the relevant house for each of the matters. Go one step ahead: Identify which of the matters live inside a native (true houses) and which of them rise in the material world (arudhas). Answer:

1) Learning - from 5th & 4th house from Rasi and D-24,

2) Academic degree - for higher degrees A9, otherwise A4 & A5 specially in D-24,

3) Devotion - 5th house in Rasi and D-20,

4) Reciting mantras - A5,

5) Feeling sick - 6th house,

6) Being sick and getting treated - A6 (I think that D-6, D-8 and D-30 can show things connected with diseases),

7) Boldness - 3rd house and 3rd from Mars,

8) Weapons - A3 or 3rd from AL,

9) Luck - 9th house,

10) Trappings of fortune - A9,

11) Judgment and discretion - it can be described like symptom of intelligence and also symptom of religiousness, so for this two terms we can look at A5 or A9.

12) Reputation - A10(reputation that comes from our occupation), A7(reputation that comes from the people with which we associate, partners),

13) Followers - A5,

11) Bank balance - A2. EXERCISE 3: Consider a native with the dasamsa given in Chart 3. He had a quarrel with an international organization, over which he was stripped of world championship in a game. (a) Identify which house or arudha shows a public spat with a powerful body. Find it in the chart. (b) Identify which house or arudha shows winning a championship. Find it in the chart. © Find the rasis that shows loss of championship. [Hint: Remember that trines from a house show its prosperity. Remember Sanjay's recent guideline that the 9th house from any house is its primary protector. This is a fundamental principle. Use it!] (d) Find the common link and identify the rasi whose Narayana dasa may have resulted in a public spat and loss of world championship. (e) [Optional] If you are familiar with Narayana dasa computation, compute dasamsa Narayana dasa and find when this dasa runs. Answers:

a) 11th house is house from which we can see how person function in the contact with friends, partners or all sort of organizations and institutions. External contact with big organizations and institutions can be seen from A11. In D-10 A11 is in the 8th house, Scorpio. Mars is there in his own sign and he is quite strong, he is also ruler of lagna in D-10. He has graha dristi of Saturn and rasi dristi of debilitated and retrograde Jupiter from 10th house. Sun is also debilitated in 7th house (partners). All this can bring conflict with authorities or elders, teachers, leaders and similar and loss in this conflict.

b) & c) Wining and loosing in championship? Competitive nature we can judge from 3rd house from lagna and 3rd house from Mars so some wining and loosing in competitions can be seen from A3 and A10 (because 10th house is 3rd from Mars). Both are in 6th house in Virgo, ruler Mercury is debilitated in 12th house. Mercury is also ruler of 3rd house. This can signifies losing in competitions but person is passionate fighter. In trines from A3 and A10 are debilitated Jupiter (5th house) and Saturn (9th from A3 & A10). Saturn can give endurance and stamina in competition and this can contribute to wining a competition. Jupiter will surely bring some success.

 

Sorry, Narasimha, I'm not familiar with Narayana dasa computation yet and I will skip this part of exercise.
