D-27 shows one's strengths and weaknesses as per Parasara. Being in the 3rd cycle (25-36), it relates to sub-conscious self. It is rooted in the 3rd house of courage and so it should show the driving force at a sub-conscious level. What are the relevant meanings of 8th and 12th houses when we rae taking about strengths and weaknesses? They are both part of moksha trikona. They show the ability to be liberated. The 8th house shows the ability to work hard and do tapasya. The 12th house shows compassion, humility and being above material illusions. If benefic influence is present in these houses in D-27 without any afflictions, one can possibly be a tapasvi who works hard.
